I was into Customization every since I could remembered and cars have been my passion as long - probably like many here. This is one of my first custom creations. I was probably around 8yrs old...lol you can see I spent a lot of time in the sand box and being hard on my cars came early....lol

Later in life my skills developed and created this custom Hot Wheels combining two different cars to create this custom Nissan...Believe it or not this was popular thing to do backing the late '90's. I use to sell these on Yahoo Auctions before ebay. There is an amazing artist in California who made large doing this...some kids never grow up...lol

Today is family day and unfortunitiy I'm working - but if you have young children collecting Hot Wheels cars is a great way to bond - I have an extensive collection I will share over time, these are the only ones I could find on my laptop today and will share with all of you.

If you collecting something cool post it up I would like to hear your stories and see your passions. I'm sure we all have something we collect - The High Commander always making me thin out my collection in the drive way....lol

Everyone loves Daytona. I've nevr been there but was able to order this collector program online in the year 2000 - included tw Hot Wheels that may be pretty rare now. The plastic sealed bag is getting a bit stiff ut has preserved this kit pretty good (more pics below)

this is a limited run HotWheels 1/64 sold around 1998 - i don't know the production numbers - these where vey cool i have several different models - probably the most realistic looking 1/64 Hot Wheels - the box says 3yrs and over I'm in

this is another cool 1/64 Mustang - this car was an actual car built in California (i will have to check the guys name) He built to go into the 1999 Hot Wheels Power Tour - this was a limited run of 5000 cars. At one time the value was around $50.00 not sure what the vale is today

My grade six teacher was 22 and had a '69 RS SS z28 just like the yellow one but the hideaway lights she later traded it in that year on a brand new '73 Formula Firebird - at the time I didn't realize it but she was sexy as hell lol and I only noticed her cars doh....! Never forgot cause the 69/was my favorite car at that time and I was very disappointed

That one has a bit of value it could be worth upwards of 50$ this one isn't perfect so i t would not he full value - the red bus I had forever as you can tell it wasn't a favorite and survived my childhood lol - the blue one on the left could have value if it was still carded ( packaged) - the penzoil I'm not sure

As a kid it was even cheaper than collecting coins, LOL. I would just cut out any interesting stamps that came in the mail and stick them in an album.

I had a glass bottle collection old brown glass from javex to orange crush some early 1900's beer bottles - the High Commander decided she was going to clean the basement in our old house years back - I said "don't through out my bottles, books, and magazines"/did she listen, no - does she ever listen, no - three 7up bottles from the 70's survived her hate for bottles and they still have the 7up.in the..
Lol fine vintage aged in the keg. What a mean wife hahaha

Not me, but my son started collecting "Gundams", not popular in North America so they're $hipped from Japan. They're pre Transformers and have been around 40 years. Can't be seen with the finished product, but they're time consuming and more intricate than model cars and planes, just a couple (of ~20 so far) he took pics of...I don't have the patience for building this.

It is the AutoArt model. Unlike GT Spirit this one is not sealed so doors, hood and trunk all open. It is a very nice detailed model, I do wish that the motor had more detail (especially at this price point) but overall it is really beautiful.

I can't bring myself to pay GT Spirit pricing for a sealed resin model that should cost 1/2 as much.

Still waiting on my Mango orange Auto Art wide body Hellcat Challenger....and Autoart is not providing any ETA.

No I bought it from a guy in NYC in a 1/18 die cast collector group I am part of on Facebook. Yes I am a nerd…

I bought this and an antimatter blue 2 door bronco which I made the top removable and I lowered the Cobra myself. Very easy to lower maisto models as they have coil springs.

Apparently, they are releasing a white coupe soon so that will be next on the list.

Then I will continue to search for what feels like a unicorn…a reasonably priced 03 sonic blue cobra coupe.

Yeah, I'll be watching for the OW coupe as well. Up to now, I have all the variations that were available (coupe and convertible including the elusive SB coupe). I think I have a pic of them all (before the CO coupe came out).

There's so many fakes (repainted) ones out there now, you need to be careful and know what to look for. This ad for example says "authentic SN paint code", does that mean it's an original sonic blue car or a repaint using SN paint code?

Stop by some time if you want to check them all out.

For your 1/18's if you can find some Ikea "Bertby" cabinets, they can be set into the wall between the studs and look super slick. They are discontinued and hard to come by and generally command a big dollar when they do come for sale.
I think "FABMAN" is using these cabinets but I could be wrong.

Those were the ones I originally wanted but was not able to find them.

I ended up buying 2 of these Brimnes (https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/brimnes-glass-door-cabinet-white-90409872/) cabinets from ikea. I then added 2 led light kits in each cabinet from Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/PG-LED-Under-Cabinet-Lighting/dp/B07PG9SNTX) and had 2 extra glass shelves made at a glass shop for the lower portion of each cabinet.

In between the two glass faced towers I have 2 lower cabinets (https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/brimnes-cabinet-with-doors-white-40300662/) from the same family for box storage and general closed off use.

I added links in this post to help you find the items I have listed. I also added the last lighting kit I added as they appear brighter than the first (older) warm white led kits that I have in the cabinet uppers and the newer kits run off remote rather than by hardwired switches.

So far all I find are GT spirit models and although the detail is good, I prefer to steer away from sealed models. Hoping Autoart or solido releases one soon.

Yeah I bought a Sinamon Stick orange AutoArt Hellcat Challenger. It’s actually one of my favorite models in my collection. I originally wanted a B5 blue but it never came so I settled on this one and grew to love it.

The detail is awesome.

Basement Reno’s starting shortly so boxing up the cars for a couple months. I have another 35 cars (mostly exotics with no boxes).
I’m having a wall built specifically for them so it should look cool when done and displayed with lights.

Thanks Shawn, I like to update the collection from time to time. Would like to buy another cabinet as I would like to get some 1:18 trucks next but don’t want it to get too out of hand either…LOL

I am actually currently selling my 1:18 Autoworld collectibles General Lee (the one with the rotatable drive shaft, detailed engine bay and detailed carpeted interior). I feel like it doesn’t really fit into my collection anymore.

I look at stores in Canada first and if no luck I search USA stores and Ebay for them.
I’ve purchased from all over the world over the years. All depends how bad I want a specific car.

Funny you should ask….I was on their website recently for the first time and didn’t see anything I was really interested in.

When I joined Instagram about 6 months ago I seen an ad come up for diecast cars CHEAP and immediately did some shopping. I was soon in the $300 range USD for a bunch of cool cars…I thought this is to good to be true so reduced the order to $90 USD and placed the order to see what would happen. I was provided a tracking number and that is where it ended. Total scam that cost me about $130 CAN.
I’m not sure what company it was but now when I see those ads I don’t even bother.

The red Challenger Hellcat and GT500 both look like a GT Spirit sealed resin models. Nice detail on the exterior, just bugs me that they are completely sealed and usually not detailed underneath (especially for the price).

That said, I may give in and get a wide body Charger Hellcat because it seems that nobody makes a 1:18 Charger Hellcat that isn’t sealed.

Yes Fabman those 2 are GT Spirit and the Demon and GT350R are made by Autoart.

I agree with you about the resin but they are very heavy and look amazing.
Autoart models are always worth more $ but some newer stuff is only made by GT Spirit so you have no other choice.
