Too cheap to buy a 5th tire because they spent all their money on buying deep dish rims and giant noisy mud tires as to which they only drive them on asphalt. Probably because the giant mud tire doesn’t fit in the back.

From what I read, aftermarket wheels with bigger tires will not fit the holder correctly as the third brake light is in the way.

Also may be too heavy.
All good explanations, thanks. I think it still looks dumb. For the cost of the fifth rim or less you could do a spare tire delete and call it a day.
Fireworks.
It would be my wish for the city to officially ban them in neighborhoods. Nope not playing the old fuddy duddy card, at least locally to me, it starts 11pm plus and can run into even 3 or 4am. Would not be a huge issue if it was only the long weekends but it pretty much starts with the first decent weather and at times be week nights as well.

Its the very back bottom one on driverside under brake booster. To be brutally honest its on tight, if it doesn't leak Im leaving it until the motor has to come out for something else. If it leaks guess we will see but honestly not sure what the fuck I was thinking.

Car wanted to idle at 1600 rpm though I think thats due to the new Accufab TB/Plenum. No vaccums leaks based on fuel trims and brake clean test. Same experience. Excuse I got is there policy covers the car without exception. Excluding the car at the track is an exception. Therefore no track.
I don't think Zehr will want to hear about the track either but I don't know for sure.
People need to stop misrepresenting Zerh. They are a broker, not an insurer. Not saying not to talk to Zerh, I fully endorse using a broker, in fact highly recommending you do (Zerh or other). But you are not insured by “Zerh”. I got my classic car insurance through a broker. They went down the Hagerty path and hit the same roadblock at “no taking it to the track”. So my broker found me a policy elsewhere that fit my needs. Zerh can do the same.

Any legitimate reason that a water pump would have two gaskets stacked up?
Cast front half has the impeller the back is just a plate that closes it off. Brand new pump. Put it on and it leaked.
Took it back off and removed the back plate and there was two gaskets stacked up.
If I remove one there doesn’t seem to be any clearance issues. Wondering if there is a reason or just a mistake by the assembler.

I’ve also got a pre approval for a fixed rate of 5.13% which expires near the end of July. While it’s high, it’s not as high as it is now or people with a variable rate. Just trying to find something that meets my criteria that isn’t over my budget seems impossible unless I go an hour out of town but that just means more money on gas and maintenance to cars and traffic to deal with.

I write from the comfort of a paid off mortgage. I'd be very wary of higher rates and a market bubble popping. If I got caught in a situation where the market did drop and the outstanding was higher than the dropped value of the property I'd be quick to walk away, as painful as that'd be.

It’s a very real possibility with things going the way they are. The government spending is out of control and is a large factor in the continued rise of interest rates. How many people do you honestly thing have an extra 40% of their mortgage as disposable income? And as the banks tighten their belts more people become higher risk. So that 40% increase in payments comes to 100%.
Could you double your mortgage and be fine? Not many people are that stable in income.
People default on mortgages because they can’t pay. The housing market gets flooded with houses no one can afford to buy. So the market plummets. Now people owe more for their houses than what the bank will give them on a renewal. So the banks start refusing to renew. And it snowballs.
You’re a smart guy. You know all this. Don’t let your disagreements with someone cloud you from reality.
But I get the sarcasm. Predicting for 25 years. Like they do for climate change.
But what do you think happened in 2008? How do you think that would have differed in Canada if our government had of decided to go on a Wild spending spree and drive up inflation. During that time? It would have been worse than what the US delt with

Valid points and very possible scenarios - 2008 also had the CDS market crash that preceded the liquidity crisis in financial markets where counterparty risk escalated. Not sure if this time CDS is replaced by commercial real estate debt or sub-prime auto loans, etc. 2008 was also made worse by markets where mortgage rules created jingle mail because homeowners were not guaranteeing mortgages (in the worst hit states) like in Canada, and LTVs were at 100% or higher in worst markets. Are prices elevated - yes. Is it sustainable - not sure - that's been the question for 25 years. Immigration and foreign investment plus slower than needed building mitigated that. Not sure how long that will continue given segments of the market with excess capacity versus others with insufficient.
Likely selective bubbles will deflate but not across the board (downtown 1-bedroom condos?) as banks here have lowered LTVs in the past few years. Commercial is a concern as that makes up a chunk of bank balance sheets (loans) and valuations haven't been fully adjusted yet until LT leases start coming due around 2025 and forward valuations will be based on occupancy rates at that time. I suspect that's why the banks were some of the first to push and advocate for back to office rules.

I’m honestly curious what will happen with the real estate “investors” I’m my area it’s been a huge boom as I have said before it’s scary how much property here is owned by “investors” and seeing as the current philosophy is to invest with bank money. I wonder what’s gonna happen to these guys carrying millions. (Have already seen a. Couple Propertys listed for less that what they were bought for a couple years ago)
The other thing that worries me is farm land. There are family farms carrying massive mortgages for farm land expansions. Like any business they need to grow. But when you’re talking land at million for 50 acres. When things renew best case is things like rent and produce get a whole lot more expensive.

Lots of options if you can be above that 7-800k mark but then again lots of stuff in that price range that really shouldn’t be.

Been down since last Monday with upper back spasms - thought it was starting to improve Tuesday evening but actually got worse and spread on Wednesday morning, and had to go to walk-in clinic to get checked out and get drugs for the pain and to relax spasming muscles as OTC meds were not working. Going on one week tomorrow and somewhat improved....at least better than last Monday/Tuesday but have new symptoms since Friday which might be pharma related (hopefully). 31st wedding anniversary on Tuesday so that's getting postponed until the weekend but keeping fingers crossed that it's gone by Thursday so I can at least get outside to watch some cars doing laps at the track.

Thanks - the spasms are always located upper back between shoulder blades and usually one shoulder and would occur a couple times per year since whiplash from an accident over 10 years ago. I've gotten it down to eliminating the worst of it and maybe <3 days of mobility issues. First time I had to go to walk-in clinic for it and not sure if it's the spasms or the pain meds they prescribed that's causing new symptoms....was hoping to wake up today and start skipping like the Viagra man but it's day 8 now.

Spine deck is around $20 or so on Amazon. In my case I need to reset vertebrae as they get locked up out of position (compressed disks). Sometimes laying down on it for a few is all I need for that magic "pop" of release.
My inversion table is a different story, it was expensive and effective for a while but I haven't used it in a while.
For me exercise and fitness have been the most effective with the occasional spine deck session.
I did have an episode last week where I felt on the brink of another 5 day time out. I took it easy for 2 days and did a few spine deck sessions, now all good and back to being active.
The deck will easily fit between your shoulder blades and the arch is adjustable. I imagine modern postures of sitting, scrolling, typing etc contribute a lot, especially if you're already compromised. I had spinal surgery at 25.

I spent years with neck and shoulder issues after an accident in high school. Daily Tylenol for get threw a day and drs never had an answer other than, “here are some pills.”
A friend who is a massage therapist convinced me to give it a shot. Been 13 years now going every three weeks and have not had to take Tylenol for neck pain in years. And it’s reduced my chiropractor visits to maybe once a year.
I do have to keep up with it. If I skip an appointment after about a month things start tightening up again.
But been well worth it to get off the pills which were causing me stomach issues. Highly recommend. Just be prepared. After your first visit it’s gonna hurt but once the muscles relax again it’s amazing.

Thanks - I will look into that. Not sure if it will work but it's a low cost option to try out. Whiplash causes some localized scarring and if that gets inflamed it send the muscles around it into spasm. I find this occurs during periods of sustained high stress/tension and unconscious muscle tension and if I fail to recognize/address it then I'm hit with the back spasms. For the first 6-7 years I'd just ride it out for about 7-10 days but then discovered if I tackle it with Robaxacet as soon as it starts to set in then I can shorten it to 2-3 days. Did that last Monday and was borderline for WNNOTC (I decided not to push it) but took a turn for the worse on Wednesday with symptoms I never had before which are continuing in some form and the pain points are moving around that general area - weird.

Thanks - late last week I was wondering whether massage therapy would help when the prescribed pharma still left me fairly immobilized but wasn't sure since I believe the issue ignites with localized inflammation triggering the spasm - but the trick is to stop the spasming muscles which the Robaxacet would typically do after about 4-6 pills over a couple days (and now down to about 2X per year).
I'd always prefer a non-pharma solution if it works so I'll look into that also. My regular doctor squeezed me in tomorrow so will ask for alternative treatment like massage therapy (he already knows we prefer to go the non-pharma route).
It was bad last week and I was mostly flat on my back so have been taking the muscle relaxer and 2 pain meds the walk-in clinic prescribed but now I'm wondering if one of these is causing the new symptoms (like the finger/arm numbness, tingling in fingers, and arm pain). Stopping one of them today before the pills are finished (the second one was only as needed on top of the first) and will continue with the muscle relaxer until the pills are gone.

I have suffered the numb finger and arm stuff. (Aside from my wrist issues)
I don’t remember the name of the nerve but it’s your upper body version of a sciatic issue. Stems from somewhere between the shoulder blades.
As my massage therapist explained. Muscle issues will actually pull your spine out of alignment. Can cause a lot of other issues including pinched nerves.
But beyond key board doctors aside. Don’t forget tingling arms and back pain are both potential signs of heart issues. So when in doubt. Always best to get looked at asap. Especially If it’s a new thing.

Yes, it wasn't there when I went to walk-in clinic last Wednesday but once it started by the start of the weekend I figured next step was to get into my doctor's schedule ASAP to figure out what was causing it and hopefully rule out the serious stuff like heart and stroke related (plus the walk-in clinic doctor was only interested to write a prescription and get me out of there so not as thorough as I'd like).
I do have a requisition for a nuclear stress test and cardiac ultrasound to book which I haven't gotten around to yet. I proactively asked for these about 6 or 7 years ago and tests were good but this time my doc wanted another just due to time lapse since last one (if I didn't ask for it in the past I would likely be doing my first normal cycle one now). Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a "widow maker" health condition developing silently back then - they don't normally do these in your 30's and 40's unless there are pre-existing conditions/concerns or you ask for it but as they say "ask your doctor".

Depending on weight a 5.0 or 3.5 f150 would pull it. Worry would be launching and pulling out. 4wd is a must and steep ramps could be scetch.
My recommendation would be dock it here in Bayfeild and I’ll keep it clean and ready to go for you. You know, weekly test drives and such. Just to make sure it’s ready for when you come down

When buying the boat make sure you buy the babes they have in the brochure's boat pics. Lot more fun and cheaper at the beginning, than trying to round up some chicks for a cruise around the lake. Tell wifey they are standard equipment and not an option so you had to take them, and you didn't have to pay more for the babes.

I think the inversion table option wasn't that far off - got in to see my Dr on Tuesday and diagnosis is compressed nerve in neck/upper spine (possibly arthritic issues related to the past whiplash) so the plan is:
3-week course of anti-inflammation medication (NSAID)
Cervical x-ray (already done on Tuesday so waiting for results)
MRI (pending appointment)
Neurosurgeon consult (if needed-will depend on MRI results)
Physiotherapy with neck traction (start Friday)
Much more mobility today than last week/weekend but not good enough to withstand the drive to TMP and standing around for hours....bummer because with the cloud cover it will probably be a nice day at the track.

Really need to find that out before making any sort of reco. A 27' Bayliner might weigh 5,500lbs wet but a 27' Formula PC might weigh 10,000lbs. One is well within a RCLB 1/2 tons limits the other is verging on 2500 territory. Also are you planning on just trailering it and launching it once a year a short distance from your house, or are you taking it on road trips to the cottage 4 hours away?
Hammerhead made a great reco as well. Keeping it at the Marina is safer, easier to enjoy, and probably would be a break even over a few years vs buying a decent truck or SUV tow rig. Boats cost enough to maintain alone vs adding another vehicle to the mix. Make sure you get a good marine survey done, boats can be a straight up nightmare if you buy one that's been neglected or had hack fixes.

Spent last 4 days at the cottages helping to cut about 40 trees that were either dead, near dead or at risk of falling on the cottages. Hired a local tree service to do all the cutting. All I have to do is clean up the branches, cut the 80 foot trees in more manageable length, remove the bark and store them in order to make several repairs to the boathouses and retaining walls. Think I added 10 years work to my list, lol.

What a great way to start the day. The wife let the dog out and within minutes I could smell the skunk. I asked my wife did you smell skunk when you let the dog out she said no I said the dog got sprayed. Don’t let her in the house I went out the front door, brought the dog around the side of the house to wash her off. she smelled so bad. she doesn’t like getting sprayed with the hose so as soon as I grabbed it, she ran away up to the front door, and my wife opened the door, letting the dog in immediately to run around the boot room, covering everything with skunk spray. Now I stink my wife stinks. The dog stinks and the house stinks. Apparently the simple instruction to NOT LET THE DOG IN THE HOUSE. was to difficult.

I had a husky that got sprayed (lotta fur) and successfully got the smell out of that, the collar and all other sundry stuff. It has a short efficacy window so mix and use, don't try to store in a mixed state. Costco sells peroxide by the case as well as baking soda. Both are cheap and effective.

Torque arm prevents the axle from rotating on its axis and eliminates need for the UCAs on these cars, panhard centers the axle. Neither of those should cause a major increase in stiffness and decrease in ride quality.
If the issues started after install I think you need to have the install re-evaluated, if the car has always had these parts and been stiff you need to re-evaluate the suspension setup.

Bilstein's don't make a full replacement coilover for the 99-04 cars AFAIK. You may have a coilover kit (Max Motorsports likely) with Bilstein's. Do you know if they are adjustable shocks and if so have you tried adjusting them? A buddy had a similar issue with the rear of his car feeling like it was "skipping" around it was so stiff. Adjusting the shocks took it from unloaded F550 ride quality to a smooth enjoyable sporty feel.
Also, something small that a lot of people (myself included) miss with install is putting the car on its wheels at ride height before doing a final torque of the bolts. Prevents any bushings/joints from becoming bound up by being torqued down at full droop then compressed.

This car was built for racing and has metal on metal - i had Joe from DSR check it out ... said the same thing. It was designed to monster the auto cross circuits ... which it did well. Then they put a supercharger on it and put it into a wall.
I bought it thinking it would be fun to rip around but the metal on metal suspension murders the back side.
Plus for SOME reason, the wife is in love with this car - i tried selling it and she put a hard stop on it.
And then she asked to soften the rear suspension - so thats what i'm going to do because shes one of the few wives who will let me spend money on my car when i got a little one on the way in 2 months lol.

During an engine break in period, how bad is the gas mileage before a tune ? For info sake, 4.6 sohc bored to a 4.8, new cams, exhaust and all the works. Would the car drive really badly ?
If untuned (meaning no base tune), could damage the engine before you get it broken in.

Correct move IMO would be get your tuner to write you a base tune for startup, then drive it gingerly around block, datalog, send file and get revision. Do that 3-4 times until you have a decent base map to complete the break in miles then bring to dyno for full throttle tuning and drivability dial in. Or remove the blower, toss the stock injectors/maf and intake system back on and run it on the stock map until broken in then bolt the speed parts back on and trailer to a dyno.
Now, if the blower, pulley, fuel system, intake routing, and maf are all the same as before and your tune wasn't shit you likely can bump the idle to account for the new cams and watch your AFRs carefully during break in but I would still rather spend $500 on tuning a new base map vs blowing the freshly built expensive hard parts to bits.
Yes base tune should be matched to your combo of parts BEFORE so much as starting the new engine.

The Port of Vancouver is clogging up with cargo during a strike by waterfront workers across British Columbia as imported seafood has yet to be unloaded and potash exports are stuck onshore, adding to the growing bottlenecks at terminals and warehouses.....
While business groups are calling on the Liberal government to recall Parliament, Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan said the focus must be on finding a resolution at the bargaining table.

Get rid of public sector unions, all of them. Want to work for a union, work in the real world (private sector) that's subject to market forces.
My GF is public sector. Her pension is indexed and defined benefit. She works remotely and does little beyond keeping her screen from going to sleep. A few hours of work per week, the rest looking busy online. She's also on the sunshine list, which given inflation isn't such a big deal.

Yeah, optics of that not good but it means there has been a process (action plan to give him time to improve, etc) for months if they know what they're doing - enough time to line up a replacement to minimize negative customer experience.

Cialdini's books "Presuasion", and "Influence" cover a lot of ground. One item discussed is "What's immediate gains importance" (paraphrased). Meaning whatever you talk about seems more important, really a psychological version of a magicians trick of distraction with some action so you look away from what is really happening. Clucking about a spy balloon, a bag of something found in the wrong place, an imploded engineering blunder are the media and social equivalent of this. Conan Doyle stated it well with "the dog that isn't barking" being the most salient clue. This is only one of many principles that are constantly evident if you look. Scott Adams made a great observation; your opinions are assigned to you. We all think we form our own opinions. Really we choose what we look at and adopt what is presented, if you "change your mind" all you've done is adopted a different assigned opinion. Media is in the business of assigning opinions.

I have a black fox roaming my neighborhood. It's a female, bold, smart and alert. It passed through my yard a week or two ago and I got it's attention. I put out a few meat scraps and stepped back about 15 feet. She came over and munched. Last night I saw her again and called out, she came over and we hung out on my driveway for about 5 minutes, she was about 10 feet away. I just came in from my deck where I hand fed some chickadees. Dr Doolittle over here.
