Something I’ve been doing more lately in the Mustang is heel and toe downshifting. I find it easier to do in this car than my Civic Si. Possibly because the Civic had a floor mounted accelerator pedal so I couldn’t blip the throttle with my heel as easily. On top of that I’m wearing heavy safety shoes.

Then can use the CT money for gas or Canadian Tire store purchases. Comes with Roadside Assistance too (Gold Plan). It's a no fee card so no-brainer there.

Yeah, you'll get CT dollars for non-CT gas purchases but the reward will be smaller and if there are none of their gas locations close by it does make sense. You can always get the PC WE MC card and use it mainly for gas and food purchases (plus the PC Optimum to double up points) and use a different rewards credit card for everything else (if you are in other programs).

Credit cards are great when managed properly like anything else and you can let everyone else (including cash and debit users) pay for your rewards.

They also act as a firewall between your bank account and the outside world. I've had a couple of CC hacks. Inconvenient yes, but the bad guys never had access to my bank accounts which could have been really bad, and difficult to recover $$ from. The hacks didn't cost me a cent.

I'm typing this from a computer paid for with AirMiles.

Most CC's have a warranty extension that most people are unaware of. Buy an item with a CC and it double the warranty period (depending on card and plan). Same story with out of province/country health insurance.

I haven't carried a balance once in the decades I've used my CC's and have yet to pay a penny in interest.

It's extremely rare for me to use a debit card or grant access to my bank accounts. Of course non of that matters if I take a political position contrary to the narrative and join the ranks of those with frozen accounts.

If your debit card gets hacked the bank will freeze your bank account while they investigate so it takes longer to get back up and running versus a credit card where the card company will have a new account/card to you in a couple days usually.

The warranties are great and generally unknown for most credit card users who either don't know or forget about them when a product goes bad 1, 2, 3, or 4 years after purchase. The majority of extended warranties add 1 extra year on top of the manufacturers warranty (to a maximum of 5 years). So if your product has a 3-year warranty for example, and goes bad in the 4th year, your credit card will cover repair or replacement if was used for the original purchase.

There is also the 90-day protection period on purchases so if you buy something and it breaks or you lose it, the credit card benefit will replace it within 90-days of purchase. This was pretty much most cards in the past but not sure if it has been cut back to premium cards now - probably not because most people don't claim so the cost of the benefit to the bank is pretty low.

Lastly, if you pay for something and don't receive it, product or service, you can charge it back through your credit card up to 18 months after purchase date (eg. if the seller goes bankrupt, or even if the product is different from what is on your invoice/contract, etc). If you paid by debit or cash you have to take the seller to small claims or regular court.

Thanks guys. Busted out some ceiling tiles to access downstairs, doesn't look too bad so far. Largest concern, will lower couple inches on the kitchen cabinets dry up ok. Water moped up, fans n dehumidifier on so wait n see how it progresses. Water was definitely pouring out of the dishwasher but cycled it last night and can't see a problem. Perhaps door was not fully latched n door switch misses it, not sure.
I've got water leak detectors / alarms around the hot water heater and under each sink, will be upping my game and sliding one under the washer itself. Shows no matter how much you think you have things covered, always something you may have missed.

Yes. Was just speaking i relation to Ricks specific issue. As a general rule. Manufactures recommend turning off your washer taps if your using rubber hoses as they are not pressure rated. We recommend using braided stainless hoses and then it’s not much of a issue.

Most hated diagnose calls are the ones that don’t leak when your there to look at it. lol. Sucks becasie it leaves you unsure and not wanting to run it.

Yes. Was just speaking i relation to Ricks specific issue. As a general rule. Manufactures recommend turning off your washer taps if your using rubber hoses as they are not pressure rated. We recommend using braided stainless hoses and then it’s not much of a issue.

I don’t think so. But I do prefer the ones that have a steel end instead of plastic. Our rule is they are usually good for the life of the machine (which for most newer machines is 8-10 years) Only exception is if they have been removed then check the gaskets and replace the hose if the seals are bad (most have built in gaskets not changeable ones)
