One of my buddies had an '87 GN which he used to drag race...had all kinds of head/turbo/trans work done. Even ran a plastic bumper. I don't recall the numbers he was running but, it was quick. The other had an '89 Anni Trans Am with the Turbo V6. It was running 11.20's. The Buick guys were pissed that GM allowed Pontiac to use their beloved turbo sixer in the TA.

So yesterday I decided I wanted to get a book at Chapters at Hwy 7 and Weston road. I walk in with my face covering. Girl at the front stops me. Says my face covering isn’t acceptable and hands me the typical blue toilet paper we seem to deem acceptable. I politely ask why, she says “ it doesn’t filter”. I thought to myself, neither do face shields but they’re acceptable. She was extremely blonde so I didn’t bother arguing with her and proceeded to put the charmin ultra 1 ply toilet paper on my face like a good Canadian.

Looking for my book, 30 minutes pass and I can’t find this damn book anywhere. I’m still looking and all of a sudden I get smacked, I look down and I see not 1 but 2 Doberman’s running around in the store with 2 young woman chasing them. I’m not allowed to where my face covering but dogs are allowed to run free in the store. ( hope they shit on the carpet).

I get fed up and finally ask the blonde doorknob for some help. She scans the book and proceeds to tell me it’s only available online. I’m now irritated beyond belief at this point, I drove down there to get my book only to be told my mask which I don’t even agree with or want to wear isn’t correct, then get hit by dogs running in a book store. As I’m leaving the store I notice the once busy plaza now only has 3 stores in business there. This stupidity is driving me crazy, I’ve had enough. End rant.

Yes, that plaza and the one across the street has had issues for the past few years with stores closing (even on the northeast side of Hwy 7 and Weston as well - behind the new building). Perhaps the area was over-retailed like in the US where a lot of outdoor malls have been emptying out over the last several years. That's certainly accelerated with the pandemic restrictions and the rapid shift to online/mobile commerce (the 2028-2030 target moved up 10 years).

But I did go to Sleep Country once on Queen and Airport and the salesman was super helpful with mattress selection. Had us test different mattresses with different pillows.

Previous couple of mattresses, bought higher end, don't feel they lasted a day longer vs something costing far less.
Current mattress was purchased during last spring lock down without being able to test, arrived defective out of the wrapper ( substantial wrinkles sewn into the top cover), zero zero nada after sales support from the vendor NATIONAL MATTRESS. Person responsible for any warranty / delivery or any other kind of issue graced me with a call back after 3 weeks of leaving messages. Unable (make that unwilling) to do anything beyond be a condescending prick because we had already used it for that time period. Slept on the coach for first two nights then another couple with it still in plastic wrapper hoping they'd call and make things right.
Never once had an issue with Sleep Country purchases, only bought elsewhere because of delayed delivery times from them.

Parents are moving so I'm helping them get rid of stuff. Bunch of furniture that was either getting tossed or given away to be refinished. Hauled it to the curb for the day to try and take less to the dump. Address was in the ad, fact that it was out at the curb was in the ad, and that it is first come first serve and I'm not holding anything.

Last king size mattress (the one we're replacing) was from Sleep Country and we weren't happy with it - sagged on both sides (not fat..lol) and higher in the middle early in warranty period. Rep came to check and said it didn't meet the threshold (2 inches or something like that) for warranty claim and they refused to do anything (would sink if you were in it for a while but someone inspecting it at midday with no one on it wouldn't see the issue). I think that was mainly a manufacturer issue though.

From what I've read, staying away from foam mattresses and trying to find old school coil mattress with high coil count - and at least with minimal memory foam in the pillow-top section if we can find it as that seems to be one of the cheap bells and whistle they use now to up the price/cut back on coils, but that doesn't have durability. In the US they seem to have options to order custom made (where you can ask not to have memory foam, etc, etc) from small manufacturers but I'm not sure we have that option this side of the border in a small market.

Yeah, from the complaints I see online, very little is warrantied and the fact that most of the industry is fairly consolidated (although many brands/models) make it worse (or easier to get away with).

If I wanted to redo my motor with forged internals what would I look at ? 5-6k parts abs labour ?

Price will rise abruptly depending on what your doing, perf cams on a 4v build = 2k +. I'm also going with all new chains, guides, tensioners, lash adjusters, followers etc replaced on top of valve seats , couple new valves and heads machined. Bottom end needs nothing but doing oil pump as matter of maint. If it had been hurt, would have moved the rotating assembly over to the Teksid block I've had tucked away downstairs. While it would have been cool to take that much wt off nose of the car, could not justify replacing a mint short for another one the same but only lighter.

I had the same thought while I was at a local grocery on the weekend - people standing in the middle of the walkway/aisle even though they're not being served (waiting for their number to be called to the meat/deli counter). The area is a main throughway to the other side of the store so you'd think they have the situational awareness to stand back until they are called/being served versus having people walking through navigating around them.

forged is good but if your intention is to make more power (500 range +) may probably upgrade the crank and pistons and have the rolling assemble balanced...if you can fab a little cheapest way maybe to chance a wreckers coyote...even doing as much as you can yourself its still not cheap - if the goal is to maintain stock numbers that's probably the cheapest to go you need to kinda have a goal as to what needs to be achieved - good luck buddy!

Got my Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine today in York Region. 3pm appointment went like clock work, in a seat at 3:02, registered at 3:07, vaccine at 3:15, resting for 15 and out the door shortly after 3:30. I didn't even feel the needle. Hopefully no side effects. Second shot scheduled for July 19th.

Got my Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine today in York Region. 3pm appointment went like clock work, in a seat at 3:02, registered at 3:07, vaccine at 3:15, resting for 15 and out the door shortly after 3:30. I didn't even feel the needle. Hopefully no side effects. Second shot scheduled for July 19th.

Went for a drive in the Accord today. Drove about 1.5 hrs and sipped only about 1/8th of the tank. Damn fuel efficient.

Went north on 27 from Rutherford. Spotted a Mclaren, DeLorean, Lamborghinis, some parked old muscle cars, Corvette, Ferrari, Rolls Royce and a Grand National. Went up all the way to New Tecumseth, crossed over to 50 by way of sixth line. Slowed down for a couple of turkeys crossing the road. They didn’t even use the crosswalk. Turkeys are assholes.

Pretty bad too on a 2006-2011 Civic/CSX with a K series motor. Have to take the cowl off then the reinforcement bracket to get the valve cover off. Even then you have angle it to remove it. Spark plugs were a pain. Changing the header was a pain as it’s at the back of the motor and you can’t see much.

Nails have to be code, how they get in the framing isn't dictated by OBC. You could hammer them in with your boot and provided you have the right quantity, type, size and length it would pass inspection. I think some areas don't like clipped head nails so check that, but fuck if framing nailers don't meet code no stick frame construction site I've been on in the past, forever, has met code.

Some good quality stuff is sold by guys like you after one or two odd jobs around the house. Sell after wifey projects are done and she is "happy".
You don't need " pro" stuff unless your going to be a framing contractor every day
You need to budget for a pancake style of compressor and extra long hoses.
Note: Look into the new Milwaukee nailers no hose or compressor, just get a extra battery.
I just got the new M12 1/4" compact impact wrench #2555 and it's big brother#2767.

New stuff beats the living manure out of old air tools and same for drills/drivers.

Was just guessing size based on the last few I've built. It's insane, so many people wanting to get exterior projects done right now but the cost is unjustifiable in many cases (like you learned). Composite has sneakily increased as well due to "higher demand" but I think that's BS and it's because they saw PT increase so figured they could jack their prices to match the increase.

A Liberal MP was caught wearing his birthday suit in the virtual House of Commons.

William Amos, who has represented the Quebec riding of Pontiac since 2015, appeared on the screens of his fellow members of Parliament completely naked Wednesday.

A screenshot obtained by The Canadian Press shows him standing behind a desk between the Quebec and Canadian flags, his private parts hidden by what appears to be a mobile phone in one hand.

“This was an unfortunate error,” Mr. Amos said in a statement sent by e-mail Wednesday.

“My video was accidentally turned on as I was changing into my work clothes after going for a jog. I sincerely apologize to my colleagues in the House of Commons for this unintentional distraction. Obviously, it was an honest mistake and it won’t happen again.”

On Sunday im drive my stang to my mother's that lives alone an hour away, as do i and legal as we both live alone. Using up winter fuel and gave bunch stuff to legitimately have to do for her like drop off grocery, retorque tires, install window air conditioning etc...still nervous as hell getting pulled over...like $750 ticket if the wish...but im legal...

You're allowed to do that as you appear to be her "caregiver"/providing assistance to a senior - the list of allowed activity is broad - the main issue is gatherings/groups of people. Of the 2 houses on our street where everyone caught COVID, everyone in both houses work outside the home and likely caught it in their workplaces (or they attended gatherings outside their household).
