So...since there is nothing to do but work out or eat....
I pulled a rack of beef ribs outta the freezer. Will thaw and prep with Ted Reader's Bone Dust, seal in bags and sous vide them for 36hrs @ about 145 degrees. Then finish up on the bbq for a couple hours @ 200 degrees slathered with PC's Beer & Chipolte sauce. Oh...and guess I'll do a run too!

I am bored out of my mind. Living in a condo sucks ass. Someone in my building has Covid but I am told in an email from our Property Management that they are in isolation.
Elevator buttons and door handles must be fun in a condo building.

I made this for getting around the condo if i have to press buttons. I basically use it and then heat the hex key with a flame to kill the virus. I can push buttons and open doors with crash bars. Door handles I am lucky to only have one which I use a tissue to touch the handle. Our property manager has assured us that the cleaners are sanitizing multiple times per day but I don’t trust them. Also, I live on the ground floor so I walk straight outside and down the ramp to the parking garage so my interactions are almost zero.

It's really weird - I have six kids and four are currently at home. Since corona I've taken out time from my day to touch base with the two not at home, frequently. I know now what it feels like to be a real parent now. Like everyone else both are vulnerable. I've never worried about a thing in the past, ever. Monday when I'm back in the city I'm going to check in with my mom and dad, who I've haven't spoken to or seen in some time, and make sure they are all right...

Fridge temp for the most part is fine, freezer temp will not go colder than -4'C.
Condenser fan runs, evap motor I changed 2 months ago (as you remember), coils are spotless, freezer door gasket seals fine. I'm thinking the compressor is dying.

your coils should have an even coating of frost front to back side to side and top to bottom.
if your coils are only partly covered in frost then that indicates either a compressor not building pressure or a leak in the system so your bleeding pressure off.
both those things would warrant a recommendation of new fridge unfortunately.

Thanks, I figured it was a goner.
I should have taken the opportunity and bought a new fridge 2 months ago when the evap motor went bad. Instead of dropping $$$$ for a new assembly.
Lesson learned.
Home Depot curbside pick up, social distancing is not telling me on the phone to find / walk up to an associate in an orange vest and give them my pick up order number. Expected it to mean, person on the phone asks for order number, make n model of vehicle I'm driving, perhaps confirms a security question from pick up email they sent (to avoid having to produce / hand over photo ID) then bring products out in a cart, associate stand back while I pull from cart n load myself.
Disappointing to see how poorly this was executed but do appreciate uber friendly person that brought my stuff out.

I was one of those kids at the A&P in the Soo. One day the owner of the local Lincoln dealership pulled up in his Town Car an popped the trunk, I load the groceries inside and proceeded to close the trunk. It popped open. So I slammed it a little harder, and again it popped open. I was about to do it one more time when driver jumped out of the car, he came around to the trunk and pushed it down with two fingers, and that’s when I heard the screw motors pull the trunk lid down. It was a power open and close trunk lid.

Not to be political but my wife and I are going to do our best to avoid anything new "made in china". I hope we can boycott Chinese-made products, including our phones. We will just hold onto them until there's nothing left and I'm sure the used market will provide once the need comes. I'm making sure that my online swag store is 100% using American Apparel. I'm also going to strongly discourage chinese made products like professional products and etc... That country is effectively ruining the western economy. If that virus is not man-made and "accidentally" created in a wet market, China has announced that they will not stop the wet markets, they are OPEN once again in wuhan.

In a perfect world I would think this would be the option but unfortunately everything comes from China. Even the phone I’m messaging the group on. It’s unavoidable. Biggest annoyance is that I've only had this one a couple of years and haven't used it much. And it's a DeWalt, not the crappy jobmate I had before. But it could be worse.

Dang......looks like he deployed parachute at least.
A 64-year-old man accidentally ejected himself from a fighter jet at 2,500 feet
A surprise company outing to an air base caused a 64-year-old French man so much stress that he flung himself from a fighter jet in midair, grabbing the ejector button in a panic and tumbling through the skies above France before landing in a field.
The man had been surprised by employees at his firm, who had organized a joyride in a Dassault Rafale B jet for him as a treat.
But they apparently didn't know their colleague as well as they thought. Once the man arrived at the Saint-Dizier air base in northeastern France and realized what his co-workers had arranged, he began to feel extremely stressed, according to a fairly remarkable aviation accident report by a French government agency.
The unnamed man had never expressed any desire to fly in a fighter jet and had no previous military aviation experience, investigators discovered.
And thanks to a watch he was wearing which could measure his heart rate, investigators noticed that "his heart was in full tachycardia" before the flight, with a recorded heart rate ranging from 136 to 142 beats per minute.
But the man went through with the ride, joining a three-plane training exercise as a passenger. The Rafale B is used by the French air force, and has a maximum speed of nearly 1,400 kilometers per hour (870 miles per hour).
When the jet was 2,500 feet above ground and the pilot began to climb, the passenger panicked and reached for something to hold onto.
Unfortunately, that something was the ejector seat button -- and the 64-year-old flew from the fighter jet.
To make matters worse, he had not securely attached his helmet, which went flying in midair.
Fortunately, the man avoided seriously injury after tumbling to earth in a field near the German border.
Investigators concluded that the error was caused by an involuntary reflex, prompted by stress and the jet's sudden movement.
The pilot was not ejected and managed to land the plane safely, despite suffering some minor facial injuries during the ordeal.
The passenger, meanwhile, was taken to a nearby hospital after the flight.

Flying in a fighter jet would be a phenomenal experience, but ejecting out of one at speed/ in a climb and parachuting down takes it to the next level in my books, too bad the guy probably sh*t his pants as it was happening.

Dang......looks like he deployed parachute at least.
During the critical adjustment of the retention harness for the Martin-Baker MK16 ejection seat in the back seat of the Rafale, the passenger was not cross-checked by ground crew and had not tightened the harness adequately on his own. He had also not donned his G-suit pants correctly and his helmet and oxygen mask were unbuckled. From here, the incident unwound rapidly once the flight began.
According the original French language report translated to English, “Following orders of a regular training mission that involved two other Rafales, the pilot took off and climbed at 47°, generating a load factor of around +4G. Then, as he leveled off, he subjected his passenger to a negative load factor of about -0.6G.” This is where problems from the harness not being tight enough contributed to the accident sequence.”
The translated report went on to reveal, “Discovering the feeling of the negative load factor, the insufficiently strapped and totally surprised passenger held onto the ejector handle and activated it unintentionally.”
So he was shitting his pants before the flight, he wasn’t properly strapped it, and he panicked when he started to get pulled out of his seat.
Somebody is going to have to answer for that parade of errors.

Engine $900-1250 likely
Transmission maybe $650-850
Supercharger kit $2500-$3000
Could try and sell entire thing as a $5000 package with K member.

I have this argument with myself a lot. Its not "bad" aside from the logic that your car in its current state is likely worth 11-14k, of which 10k added to gets you a really nice S197 Coyote car or spitting distance of an S550 coyote car, both of which come with all the modern accouterments and benefit of being a factory built car. If the new edge convertible is your "forever car" then maybe it's worth it, but I honestly I have a hard time with the proposition of dumping 10k in to my car to essentially end up the same power level in the end. If a shop could guarantee me that my car plus 10k gets me back a Coyote powered car with working AC/Heat/Power Steering and no cut corners then maybe.
But honestly by the time you source motor/trans/control pack and harness/k member/exhaust/clutch all the misc lines and hardware needed I feel like it's going to be above $13000 even after getting top dollar for my currently setup. Which puts you right at S550 money and honestly those things are fucking awesome.

Along the same lines I was pondering a 2.3 Ecoboost swap in my SVO rather than trying to do anything with the original 2.3 SOHC engine. However I decided that I didn't really want to be in to the car financially for that much, especially with my history in the last dozen years of only owning a car for 3-4 years tops. So I took the easy route and went S550 Coyote.

Regrets about buying the S550, or selling some of the previous cars? Don't know yet on the new one, just got it before Xmas and it went straight in to storage. Might be getting it out this weekend. I've driven enough of the S550s to know that I like them, other than the front end styling still isn't my favourite. I haven't advertised the SVO anywhere yet (other than in my sig here), and if it doesn't sell this year it's not a big deal. Although it probably won't get driven much other than to some car shows if we're ever allowed to have any gatherings again.

I had a sweet S550... but at the end of the day I prefered my slower, crapier foxbody so I traded in the Coyote power for a Ranger as a daily and kept my fox. Never been happier with my vehicles - I'm not even bugging Bill anymore lol I'm glad I didn't sell my fox to keep the S550... real glad. While I 100% agree they are amazing cars, Ford's latest batch of 5.0 Mustangs are nothing but amazing. I am a foxbody guy... can't help it.

My honest opinion then? If light to light performance is what you're after, sell the Vortech, find you a nice roots style blower for the 2V and have a sponsor build you a monster 2v bottom end and get a T56 in her. That's right around 10k and the performance you'll see is higher than a stock Coyote. Cool factor might not be there but you'll hurt some feelings.
Or adopt the LSX as your Lord and Savior.

My parents are only 20 years older then I. My mom 19 years older. For years I tried to get them to move out to my area so I can take care of them. I shutter at the thought of an old age home and when I first came out here there was some awesome deals. But stubborn as people are they didn't budge, didn't want change. If I had the cash I would have pulled the trigger and bought the properties myself. I consider myself lucky because of my health is very good and grew up in a health conscious generation, but closing in on 60 I can see I'm not who I was...Last night in the wee hours my Dad went into emergency surgery for and abdomen aneurysm. There's many things to be thankful for... mainly he pulled thru a surgery that gave him a 50/50 chance and so far he is okay. Considering the current events things could have been a lot worse. As much as I hate government and you may be able to throw authority into that mix, I have to commend our leaders and their advisors on the organization and leadership with care facilities in these times. If this was another country he may not have been attended too period (from what I have read). This all happened in the wee hours and I can only imagine my moms worries as she was not allowed to go in the ambulance and be there waiting by his side...Health is a serious consideration in a persons lifestyle - If you can stay home - stay home - everyday I have to go to work and come home to five other people waiting it out, and that worries me. I only have to go to work because of the economy. It's different now then all the other years and I do my best to be careful. There's many things to be learned in this time and I think the biggest thing for me - Is what we had before really normal....? Is the economy as important as health...? Is the economy more important than life itself...? Is normal just a term for comfort and peace of mind, for a lucky few...I say this in respect to those who work for minimum wage or maybe don't work at all...Is normal changing and will it change for the better. Greed seems to be todays normal along with chasing a never ending grasp to be on top of it. We live in a time where we have seen people accumulate tons of wealth then suddenly die from something money could not prevent - what good is the economy really doing for us as a whole community....? If you can stay home - stay home! Personally I want to see the normal change for the better of all not just the few at the top! My mom said in a sort of broken voice...The last thing he said to me was not to worry!

Guess Canada Post delivered my tools to wrong address. Says delivered but not here. Nothing on cameras either. Fuck my life I'm sick of dealing with Covid shopping issues.
Been on hold with Princess Auto north of 45 minutes so far, trying to figure out where my order is from the 11th. Spent over an hour on hold last week trying to chase down the same order. Frustration meter is approaching pegged.

Mines from the same day and retailer ZR.
Sorry to hear.
Spoke with my brother last night, he's in exact same boat with an order from them. Get things are going to take longer vs normal but not right they offer zero updates as time passes.
They have yet to answer a single one of my uber polite email inquires and been nothing but jerked around on the phone.
Just ticked over an hour on hold so far.
Gets better, at 1 minute past the hour on hold, recording comes on asking me to leave a message.
Little wonder even someone trying to be patient n polite looses their freaking mind.

I haven't tried PA direct yet. Canada Post tracking shows my package as delivered to the shop, but no truck showed up today at all. Checked cameras, walked the property, and our Office Manager was at the front desk at time of their supposed delivery.

My experience: Canada Post not even trying to deliver packages at the moment. No door knock, no notice, nothing. They drop it off at the nearest depot (despite online showing as “delivered”)
Your tools could be sitting at at pharmacy somewhere.

TBH, nobody is usually home so our deliveries end up at the depot anyway. It was a PITA before when our packages ended up at Shoppers Drug Mart. But now the independent pharmacy around the corner from my place is a Canada Post Depot and they are fantastic! Shout out to Cornell Pharmacy, they rock!

We have figured out that our (rural) carrier at work sometimes marks packages delivered but doesn't do her route for a day or two. Can't discount just plain laziness.

After another 30 minutes on hold, uber nice women on the phone checked n went on to explain, they are slammed to the point of don't know which way is up n which way is down and simply could not apologize enough all the while thanking me for being calm (guess most calls have not gone smoothly). Confirmed package has left the building and in the hands of Canada Post plus tracking number is correct (does not come up as valid number on CP tracking). From here they are going to follow up with Canada Post n see whats transpired and get back to me. Further advised replies on lost packages has been brutally slow, suggested it could take till end of this / early next week before she'd have an answer.

American Muscle.
Bought new wheels about two years ago for the Cobra n tucked em away until I was ready for new tires. Before purchase, checked on their web site then double checked by sending an email confirming stock center caps would fit the wheels (want to run the stock SVT caps like I have on current set of replica wheels). Told no problem, site shows nothing under specs page. Ok cool I'm good to go, well right up until today when the caps physically fit the hole but do not latch into place. Looked on their site again to confirm, no mention of it until I looked in the reviews n saw someone else had the same problem, reply was the stock caps do not fit. Gee whiz guys, why is that not in the product description and why was the contact person not aware of it.
New plan will be to purchase plain black caps and have decals made so a somewhat easy fix.
Yet another reason I purchase bulk of my parts locally.

Had same issue with my cobra rep wheels. Was able to slightly trim the stops on the back of the O.E.M SVT center caps to get them to sit in farther and latch. Was a really easy mod and ya can't beat the look of the O.E.M caps

Working on a business plan. Wife and I made up our minds, we are buying a farm slightly outside of the GTA. We need to continue in the GTA for 2-3 more years (unless we get fired), the plan is to pay down the mortgage so when we sell our current house, we can have some extra cash leftover even after buying the next home in cash. We will be in a position where just 50k a year gives us an excellent lifestyle. We make a ton more than that currently but the rat race is killing us.
My goal is for around 20 acres. I will run a few small businesses. A premium vehicle storage service (enclosed trailer for pickup and drop off, detail, oil change, etc...) as well as RV storage. We will also start a tree nursery business (wife's side)... I also want to do some kind of off-road trail to teach those mall-crawlers how to get dirty. Oh and possibly expanding foxstang.com with a bit of a part-time foxbody resto factory lol. The only animals we will have are chickens, rabbits and pigs for our own food and of course a greenhouse for our garden.
That's the life we want... simple, clean and no more 9 to 5... albeit a lot more work. I've started contacting insurances, local municipalities for what we can do with zoning, etc... A friend of mine works for a place that sells steel buildings so I have potential deals on large buildings and now have connections in concrete with my current job lol... All seems to be coming together. Of course I'll need an F250 and enclosed trailer lol

Case in point, today got to move some equipment as our normal driver is off. Felt kinda nice throwing chains, getting out in the truck, windows down on a nice day. Change of pace from a desk. Also very minimal traffic made it kinda nice lol.

Not being much of a sesquipedalian myself, however, I tend to write with circumlocution. You may think I'm a gasconade but I just like to elucidate my visual concepts. I now realize I shouldn't be so perfunctory regarding others' feelings. I thought I was scintillating and magnanimous.
