John,
Just say a handsome man with substance and mystery( I’ll do the rest) She doesn’t have to be a Dane either hence the term “ sugar mommy “
I figure the trend getting “ sugar daddies “ to pay for their tuition, I might as well do the same , to get into another vehicle to replace slo turd.

These beers go down so well with this weather.. come November I don’t have one for weeks.

I love my fox and it’s fun to drive and all but seriously lacks the jam. I’m torn.. do I build a motor? Or do I just get a s550 and be done?

Yes, this weather makes beer drinking extremely enjoyable

Did you ever go with the coil-over setup you were contemplating?
Suspension and brakes so I could go around corners made me forget the serious lack of jam ....until I hit the Andretti straightaway

99-04 GT brakes are fine for what I do, night and day difference vs. fox brakes. Better pads would help even more. Suspension, bilsteins all around with mm springs and mm rear control arms. Panhard bar was a huge upgrade. The car handles great for what it is and I love the look.. but yeah, no jam. I’ve pondered slapping on a used blower.. something small, 6 psi or so. But then I would have to load the trunk with copious amounts of rotella 15-40. The motor is reliable but tired.

I think I've narrowed down my craziness to the deep down need to build things. I'm most happy when I'm creating something, I guess that's why I started off as a graphic designer and enjoy construction and making "music"... Right now I'm in a bit of a slump at work. Yes, I'm building a whole new department, policies and processes which is fun (for me) however I'm told the business needs to catch up to me - or in other words, they aren't "ready" to start leveraging and appreciating the frameworks I've built to better manage things. Yesterday I started learning a whole new programming language (developing a data-warehouse and AI) for fun and no one else in IT wanted to, I got the thing built and people are using it. Love that feeling!

Anyway this morning I was chatting with the wife (we wake up at around 4:30am, not sure why). I'm debating just taking on a basic contract with a huge pay cut like 80k a year type thing and free up some time to start a business or partner with an existing (there may be an opportunity for that). But the business I want to get into won't have anything to do with IT Governance frameworks, or PMOs or whatever. I'd LOVE to be part of something tangible. Like building decks, fences, landscaping, kitchen remodels, basements or anything that people can enjoy for years. I want to hang my suites and ties and put on my CSA boots and hardhat lol.

The other part of me is I have a lot of business acumen, I can do business plans, business cases, financials (wife is better as she has the designations for this), digital marketing, communications, PR, project management, talent development/management, etc... I can also do a lot of hands-on stuff as well. I'm often thinking why am I so lazy to not take advantage of my skills for my own good and not only build things for people to enjoy but build a business for the family. It's hard to take risks though, I think that's my problem right now. I'm just not sure what that will look like, I just know I need change. I wish my current role was setup for success, I'd feel a little better about it.

Wayyyy back when the E30 M3 first came out I fell in love with that car. Prices have skyrocketed for them now it was my opportunity to get one. I had a 330 ZHP car but was not the same. I was originally looking to get an M3/M4 (used of course), an M2 Competition or the GT350 (as you know) but I heard some bad things about the S55 motor on the M3/M4 which is used on the M2 Competition so I passed on that. I looked at new and used GT350's but I couldn't get over the crap fit and finish on the exterior and interior. The new ones all came with the upgraded comfort leather seats but I wanted Recaro's. Honestly, I love my M2. Phenomenal driving machine for sure.

Tried out a new campground along the saugeen river between Hanover and Walkerton beautiful spot mix of seasonal and temp sites. Decent privacy and owned by a young couple who just purchased it last year. I have done ALOT of camping own a truck and 27ft trailer and some years use it almost every weekend during the summer. It’s pretty common that most places have a “local wood only” rule for fire wood (from the ash borer issue) so we typically stop when close and grab wood from a close by road side stand (lots of times it’s kids chopping and selling for cash and stuff) this time there is a saw mill not ten min away so I stop and grab a bunch of the cut offs. More than I will need for 3 nights but it was $20 and I typically leave the left overs for the next person (or the neighbor site to steal as soon as we drive away) it wasn’t until we were in the site and set up and unloaded that I noticed a sign that said “NO OUTSIDE WOOD ALLOWED IN THE PARK PLEASE PURCHASE WOOD FROM THE OFFICE” something along those lines. I think. Oh damn already got wood but don’t mind supporting a young couple just starting out in a new business venture. So I drove up to the office and buy 2 bundles for $7 each plus tax. For the same slab wood I got at the other place that they bundled up. Maybe 5 pieces of wood per bundle. Far more money for wood than I have ever paid at any camp ground. Including the provincial ones. But what ever.

Fast forward to tonight our last night here and the owner stops by to change a garbage and sees the wood. Asks where I got it. I said we brought it in with us. He replied I’m gonna have to take it away we don’t allow outside wood in the park. I responded very politely. Sorry I didn’t know that coming here.
Then he goes off lecturing us about making up our own rules.

Changes the garbage bag throws it in the back of his gator then goes back to lecturing us again about ruining his lively hood with invasive insects . I said look man. My wife booked the site I didn’t know you had a rule about wood. This stuff is local wood from ten min down the road, sorry But we know for next time (as my wife and I as already talked about coming back and bringing her parents because they love canoeing and it’s a perfect place to base camp for canoeing the saugeen river) He responds by basically calling me a liar Dropped a curse in front of my kids and said “it’s fine cuz there damn well won’t be a next time” and then storms off.

So I guess I need to find another place to camp next time we want to come to this area.

This is 100% correct. Milk in the states is free reign for that stuff though, so we end up seeing a lot of news about it resulting in people who don't do two seconds of research thinking it is true of Canadian dairy too.

Totally different genre of ride. This things uber low KMs (32,xxx) and all original where it counts, and choice mods where it matters. Would run circle around a Cobra on a race track, and you would look great doing it. Cobra's a great car to have and cruise, this thing can get used and excel.

When buying used parts, keep in mind, growing number of peeps out there that prey on trusting buyers. Especially on big purchases like engine or trans, if they don't have documentation from a reputable builder you can follow up with, run like hell. A can of paint can make a turd look like a diamond.

This sucks... I pass the prep exams with an average of 97% and I still have to waste 16 hours of my life "in class" before I'm allowed to take a real exam this weekend. I need to work on my fox before heading out to Montreal in it... new clutch, fix main leak, install speakers, antenna, double check all the suspension bolts (re-torque), check lines... make sure the notch is ready for a long ass haul. Would love to get the 373 in but I guess the 273 will give me Honda Civic like MPG on the trip.

It's actually more east than montreal. There's a huge car show in Granby with over 3000 cars, 30k visitors. So I'll bypass everything on the toll road. Much cheaper than the 407 lol

I've worked with many people, ran large teams. Ranges in cultures, education, age, etc... I really don't give a rats ass about education for most roles under my purview. I'd hire a highschool dropout that studies every night to stay current with technology for a dev. I've had some very educated employees that I had to fire and makes me wonder how they passed their courses?

I thought, why would I get a university degree in computer science? Shit changes fast, education isn't going to make someone more valuable to a business.

My oldest daughter went to university and finished highest in her class -/study English - she was always a smart kid have no idea where it came from - I use to think the same way about school and understand fully where your coming from when you have an educate person who does t perform (/)this is common in everything's ng) - watching university developed her mind and how she thinks/and processes with an open mind, really impressed me and I personally have learned a few things from her. This obviously won't be the same for everyone. She is very successful now and I can see how her street smarts ,degree , and her built in drive shaped her into the person she is today. I have six kids the remaining five will likely never go to university I think its important as a parent to evaluate and understand that an to help them maybe see a more suited direction - it's only my gamer that I'm worried about!

although I do agree with some of this...I think you're missing the point regarding a college/university degree, as it's not "all" about learning the relevant content, it's a road map to help you get to a planned or maybe unplanned destination, with many routes to get there, some people get lost...some people follow a planned route to a T. some create their own path with the tools they've been shown/developed along the way, it's about learning how to obtain the knowledge you need to succeed in a pursued field or any field for that matter...continuing education is just a given in any field as things are always changing. That's why some places will still hire an individual with a diploma or degree in a totally different field...but it still shows they are willing to learn and follow through. This of course depends on the individual, sometimes it works out and sometimes not. But this can be said about anyone, regardless of education

I saw some pretty shitty driving this morning. I get taking chances and having fun but passing a row of cars on a 4 lane 80kmh road (traffic already going 95) on the WRONG side of traffic right before a blind spot (hill and turn) in a shitty mercedes is not what I'd consider "responsible sporty driving".

Wonder if I could send the dashcam footage somewhere?

dunno if it's a different transmission in the trucks but I've heard nothing but complaints about them too...Friend of mine bought a brand new one and he wishes he kept his other one...it skips gears hunts, this and that...which is fine if it's supposed too LOL...but he was not informed of that when he bought it and does not like it at all

Well ya obviously but not on a daily bases. Even my uncles 2016 6 speed, he doesn’t like the way it shifts. Me personally I love my 5-6 speed manuals. I’ve never driven the new stangs but just like you said, on the track they must be heaven but I’m also going to assume because they’re in sport mode they hit every gear smoothly

I don't have the handheld tuner, just the wire that is connected to the chip in the computer.

Ok tuned via chip with a flip switch.
Options, normally one position will be stock OR you can remove the chip completely.
If removing, safer to disconnect battery n wait a few minutes first.

Driven realistically, a 2V GT is very good on fuel. Keep in mind, fuel tank is not very large, record mileage / fuel used and calculate.
What mods does it have?
Back in the day on my own 2000, with stock with bolt ons, best h/p n torque running stock or aftermarket x pipe and stock cat back. Once supercharged, aftermarket cat back was a plus.

Old Fart
07-26-2019, 12:01 AM
As far as I can tell the only engine mods are a BBK throttle intake and K&N cold air intake. The K&N filter is also very dirty...on my to-do list.

I speak from the experience of talking to people. having people angry with me because I own a business, when the only reason we could afford it was because of sacrifice. in my younger years I spend lots of time eating PB and J so I could save money for something I wanted. don't have a fancy phone plan or fast internet and have not had cable in almost 7 years.

I don't think the big crash in 2008 (people spending money they don't have, etc) was caused by millennials. It was the cohorts before them that caused it. If anything, they and those after them are(will) paying the price.

I’m of the opinion that the millennial generation is the luckiest generation. Look around at all those baby boomers, me for example, owning a home (Toronto prices) , cash in bank, cars, bikes, that will all go to them, my kids one day.

probably true, but it doesn't look like anyone is learning from each others mistakes.

Well, the boomers, Gen x who were drivers of the past problems are back it again and are bigger cohorts combined than Millennials right now. The reports I'm seeing right now that millennials are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be as the visible behavioural/spending practices hide some key underlying differences - less consumer debt (spending of crappy shit; less borrowing for cars) while their debt is weighted more to higher education (ie. student loans), similar or higher savings rate than previous generations (although they're behind on absolute balances because of higher tuition/student debt), and now they're a key driver in real estate in major markets as they're buying urban/suburban real estate like their parents did before.

I've had a lot of them work for me in the past few years and the only puzzling thing I've run into is that they didn't really want overtime and chose to keep after-hours/weekends as personal time (whereas I think my Gen X peers took extra hours or whatever we could get early in our careers but then I think we went out and bought "stuff" with the earnings that Millennials are not buying at the same rate). This is obviously based generalized observations.

I don't know about that - yes there will be a large wealth transfer to Gen X and Millennials but a lot of boomers are relying on home equity versus savings for retirement, and carrying consumer/mortgage/car debt into retirement.....plus living longer so will need the money to avoid living on cat food. I don't think the "net wealth" numbers are as high as "visible lifestyles" would indicate unless there are a ton more "millionaire next door" types than we think.

generalizations based on age cohort are no different than any other ism, feminism, ageism etc. Attributing a behavior based on an age grouping is a form of identity politics.

I could softly agree if ideologies or experiences were identical, otherwise such a sweeping generalization is worthless.Had to add that perhaps today's millenials opt out of OT because pay makes it not worth the sweat and blood. Pay hasn't moved with inflation for decades...and housing just went Vancouver styles in the GTA. So a regular Joe with an ok paying job would have to work without barely any sleep and it would not be worth the extra $ nor would they be able to save enough.

Hard to score decent jobs with benefits and good pay to boot. Gotta keep moving forward and maybe some can land that $$ job.

So a regular Joe with an ok paying job would have to work without barely any sleep and it would not be worth the extra $ nor would they be able to save enough.

Hard to score decent jobs with benefits and good pay to boot. Gotta keep moving forward and maybe some can land that $$ job.

These folks are in their mid-20's approx. and are getting paid +$60K annually plus bonus and good benefits for a 37.5 hour week where you can work from home some days (health, dental, vision, tuition). Plus we have free coffee, volunteer days off, personal days for appointments and stuff, pool and ping pong tables, hockey tables. I think that's ok compensation (non-union)? The ones we're more likely to promote are the ones asking to do more versus signing out at 5pm (all things being equal).

Would a mid twenties female co worker think I am? Lol

When I checked my daughter into emergency- they ask contact info then said “ relationship? Husband?” Lol

That’s form of discrimination right there, I can be whatever age u want, I need the $$$$$

Finance/Credit/Risk Management. We look for Finance/Accounting degrees or CFA, etc. Some have MBAs but they tend to be older and comps would be closer to $100K or higher. This is for non-management roles.
