Ok did a master reset and updated sync to 3.0 in the mustang and got the Waze app running... sweet now I can see speed traps on the big screen lol

Master reset is in the settings screen...

For the 3.0 update, I downloaded the software from Ford (need login) and put on a USB stick for the car... need to keep engine running and the update UI isn’t the best because I didn’t see any progress bar or anything... but it did update.

As for Waze you need to disable CarPlay

I only did 1 trip to buckhorn with it and averaged 14L/100km taking it easy.

Mine averages 17-18L/100km.. I suspect the front end lift and duratracs aren’t helping the matter.

The new ford ranger, if it’s as efficient as they say it is, might be a purchase for me. No it’s not a full size truck but I bet it will tow my aluminum boat without a problem.

I hear you there, was told repair was gonna be a week, then was told 2, now we are in week three and they are hoping to have it done by tomorow..... or Friday, then iget to take it homw stay up late installing my new rack and then hook it to the traielr and drive for 10 hours and hope they didnt miss anything with the mechanical

Update on my body shops suck post
Called yesterday was told I would get a call today with a quote as the piece now needed repairs
Called twice today and sent pics to show how it's mounted (which they said they didn't look at)
Told me it's got cracks and is not well made and either will be way too much money or I will be disappointed with it and the paint will fall off.
It's a brand new CDC aggressive chin spoiler.
I even glued on supports on the underside to take wave out of one piece.

Guess im going to pick it up tomorrow and take it somewhere else....

so had to be in London this aft so swung by the dealer body shop to see how it was going with the truck, the truck he told me on Tuesday just needed minor finishing and should be finished by Thursday,(Friday at the latest) keeping in mind that im leaving this weekend for north bay and need that truck to pull my trailer.

turns out the found a chip in the windshield which he just ordered this afternoon. oh and the mechanical that he said was done two weeks ago turns out they just ran the codes today and its giving abs/traction control codes , but its okay we should be able to get it done for you.


that's what I was told last week and then again this week, so ship window in, install window, diagnose abs codes, get parts, install parts and do a final detail all in one day.? when its already taken them one week to tow it 20 min, one week to do the estimate and now three weeks to do the repair that the appraiser told me would be a week tops, maybe a couple extra days if they get busy.


oh and to top it off, standing beside the truck that he says has had the inspection done on it and I say what about the ground wire hanging in the breeze there for the air bag cylinder, oh we didn't do any thing with that its not a factory option. daily up date time!

after much back and forth on the phone with the body shop and then the insurance company and not getting calls returned, first I was told the windshield for the truck is in and they are just waiting for it to be installed.

then I get told an hour later, by someone else that the Windshield is on back order but everything else is ready and I will be able to pick the truck up. I say okay but my wife works and we wont be there till 6. they say no problem.


so we get there at 5:57.

dealer is dark and quiet. find one guy there he was lowest on the totom so had to stay and wait for us.


I start to look around the truck. dent on passenger door is still visible as is the sanded paint edge around it. marks still on the other door, weeds and mud still crammed up in suspension and frame.


open the door, looks like someone whipped everything down with a damp cloth and did vacuum, interior is still nasty, sticky stuff all over the seats, the writing was washed off the leather but the leather was discolored everywhere it was.


we instantly get on the phone to the insurance company,


keep looking, all the inserts from the dash and cup holders are missing, scratches all over trim, and THE CUP HOLDER IS FULL OF TRIM SCREWS!


insurance lady says don't worry when you get back from holidays it has to go back for the window we will have them make it all right for you.

get 5 min down the road and something seriously wrong, truck one min pulls to the left next min pulls to the right, try different roads, even take it to the highway and it just doesn't want to drive straight and makes weird vibrating rumbling sound when coming around the on/off ramp curves, get into a parking lot and the motor is making weird noise, possibly from one of the turbos, gets louder with higher revs, turn around in the parking lot, and then it skips out of gear revs up and slams back in second with a bang. air bags also wont air up or down on the drivers side and the compressor on the passenger side air up with with horrible noises. back on the phone with the insurance rep. she gets a "level 2 specialist" to call me back he has me take the truck back to the dealer which is locked up for the day now, takes a complete list of everything going on. and is gonna try his best to find us a rental tomorrow. for those keeping track leaving sunday to head up to North bay with the family and need to tow my trailer, now I have no truck

so, dealer has had the truck for a month now and managed to pretty much not fix anything

and I currently have no way to take our trailer to northbay to take the kids on our camping trip.

When the welfare neighbours backed into my F150, I took it to FixAuto in Ajax. They replaced the entire door and detailed the crap out of the truck. Insurance was easy to work with (Belair). Granted it wasn’t a huge job since the damage was pretty minimal but the experience was good.

Yup. I love my 2015. Looks good and sound amazing. It’s a blast to drive whether going for a cruise or going to the track. Just me in and go. No issues.

I just did the rear brakes and new bushings on the rear sway bar, so I still wrench on it but it’s not like I’m fixing it every day like my older Mustangs. At this point in life I just want to enjoy it - as opposed to getting frustrated by it.

Same here - mine is pretty reliable even at +400 rwhp and torque. Just get in, turn key and drive since ZR installed the Beatty & Woods motor/supercharger, and DaSilva tuning. In 5 years I think I had one controller and e-fan failure (at same time - this took a while as I had to wait for the DCC guy to build another controller; I should just keep a back-up to swap out), a small fitting that has a slight/slow leak but doesn't affect the car (have to get it to ZR to swap the fitting), and recently my turn signals stopped working (second time in 26 years).

You’d need to do a lot of towing to justify a 2500+, they’re way more expensive for maintenance, and new purchase price, and of course they’re heavier, so their mileage generally sucks.

Update. After a week away still no truck.

Body shop agrees that the door isn’t aceptable and is going to be redone. When I asked about it not driving straight they said it is because it’s elextronic power steering and it is programmed to compensate for the crown of the road. I said so why does it drive straight then the wheel cocks an 1/8 to one side and the truck drives into the opposite lane?

He said oh.

Less than 20 min later they said that the stearing and vibration problems were becasie they did’t do the alignment after replacing the one front drive shaft and that it’s all fixed now. (Fastest road test and alignment I have ever heard of)

Motor and trans issues they basically said insurance won’t even consider it untill it’s actuall broken. (Aprantly funny noises and jumping out of gear isnt broke)

And they said the interior was all detailed and good to go.

Untill I pointed out the scratches on the bezels all the missing cup and tray liners and the discolouration. That is still in the leather.

So they are gonna order more parts and I’m being told hopefully Friday. (For the third separate Friday)

So now it’s been 2 months without our truck

Like my 93 Fox, my 92 Lexus is currently on stands. Can't remember if it has auto headlights. If it has it, I might use it. Fundamentally I prefer a simple light switch, instead of some auto circuit that has more failure modes than the simple switch. I do agree that illuminated instruments are the root of the problem and a stupid idea. My ideal solution is headlights on, instruments on, headlights off, instruments off.

Call it mental laziness, no thinking required to determine if lights are on with a clear intuitive indicator staring me in the face.

Mine was a 93 LS400 and I wish I never sold it.

That being said, I was at the light on the off ramp at Brock rd in Pickering waiting for the light to go green. While waiting, I somehow turned the key back in my ignition and didn't know my car shut off. Went to drive away when light went green and obviously no go. Young black punk behind me starts laying into the horn like a mad man and tears around me. I catch up to him and tell him "hey man, my car shut off". He responded with "FUCK YOU!!" He took off in his white Mercedes, got in front of me and did the brake thing. Now it got worse because i started to lose it and did it back to him (not the right thing to do on my part). That's not a race thing, it's an asshole thing. The guy was an asshole... nothing to do with the number of melanocytes he had in his skin.

Edit: I did read some interesting research about different races and behavior types a while back. The guy who wrote it probably got killed, or at least destroyed career-wise. I'm not a doctor so I can't really come to a conclusion if he had some sort of bias in his research or not. I like to think all humans are equally stupid though.

Not a race thing - see this with people from all backgrounds. The soccer mom ones usually surprise me because they are carrying around kids.

Since you eventually behaved the same way he's probably telling the story from the other side about this a-hole X race guy who was on his phone at the traffic light and not paying attention then started slamming on his brakes as well, and endangering other motorists.

How can a "grown-up" spit in someone's lunch in spite? Maybe a teenager where they have the excuse of hormones and underdeveloped life-skills. Jesus I hope I never have an employee do that to someone. It would only seem fair to make the person drink a cup of spit produced by the entire team lol... (That's why I'm not in HR).
