You have not received renewal or confirmation full insurance is back on after storage? If it's the later, many ins co's don't send out a notice beyond your broker or rep telling you verbally over the phone.
Next, MTO not having / showing confirmation on their system when an officer runs your plate. In my experience (it's happened twice to me with the Cobra) it falls squarely on the MTO's screwed up system. Rep at Hagarty explained, they have a person in the office that deals with that exact problem for the peeps in Ontario they insure, yes it's super common. Two years ago, it took them sending the info through several times before MTO got it right.

In the past, before I had classic coverage (year round), my broker would fax me a copy of the insurance slip if it had not arrived in the mail yet. No way would I drive around without a proper insurance slip.

Not sure now with the new computer insurance database the cops have access to. That continues to be a clusterfuck. I don't understand why they system isn't realtime? You put insurance on the car, it should update the system immediately. Regardless, a temporary faxed insurance slip should be valid.

Ridiculous it's not just that easy Don. I was even in the MTO office trying to renew plates with my paid policy / cancelled check in hand, not acceptable until it showed on the system.

Yup. It's not instantaneous. I put insurance back on my car a full two weeks before I pulled it out of storage so I wouldn't have to deal with any issues like that.

Totally wrong that your broker didn't email you a temp slip 10 sec after hanging up the phone with you. Mine always emails me, then the real one arrives in the mail one or 2 days later.

I need to start shopping for a new insurance company/broker
Beautiful day on my way to the Rim rim show, meeting some friends in mississauga, as I get off the 403 there is a cop behind me, not worried as I dont drive like an ass.
As we cross the intersection he lights me up. Im informed I do not have insurance listed on the mustang (WTF?) Asks if I have a preferred tow company an is very stern, I am literally lost. I try explaining that I have contacted my broker and got confirmation but have not received the new renewal since taking the car out of storage. He lets me show him the text conversation with my broker and runs my licence.
I have a clean record so he lets me go but suggests going to a parking lot and getting it sorted. I did just that, of course being sunday on a long weekend I cannot get a hold of anyone (even my brokers cell) Insurance company cant even look up my policy to confirm. After spending nearly an hour in the parking lot I gave up and drove home. My weekend is ruined and could have been much worse.
This is the 3rd issue this year with the company and Ive been having issues getting in contact lately. My family has been with him for many years.

Any one have any suggestions on where to look, I am willing to pay more to have a single point of contact rather then calling into a call center.

Get a different broker and get in contact with Intact Insurance. Pretty sure my Broker is Sure net. Intact is by far the cheapest for me. $346 for three cars and a house lol

Busy weekend. Got a the wife's new deck box built. Finally finished building the new lid over the basement access
Stumbled across a better tent trailer for a steal of a deal so bought it. Switched all the gear over so we can sell the old one.
Couple campfires with family and friends.
Got the bike down and gave it a once over. Gonna have to go in for a tune up. Think the front shock seals are leaking.

Finished welding up the tourque box on the tbird and finally got to cutting off the old 1/4 panel. Discovered it was much worse underneath than I had hoped so I'm seeing if I can source some more patch pannels.

Now it's time for a drink and maby a nap.

Mines attached to an airbox built by Steeda that mounts behind the Rad. So long way down there.

Also my new custom wheel arrived, but apparently my steering wheel was welded on by satan using hellfire. Tried to use the puller I have that threads in to wheel, pulled the bolt holes right out of the wheel.....hoping I can get it with a claw style.

New rubber mounted up today, looks much better with 40 series on the front instead of 45..

Although my hearing isn't fantastic I'm sure I had an exhaust leak (Laffs I feel your pain with this issue), jacked up the car and 4 muffler clamps were loose (going to replace them this weekend) and at the x pipe meeting the long tubes is was loose and had black soot around the flange, so Im hopeful that I fixed my it, my daughter is sleeping otherwise I'd fire it up tonight to see.

Next up convince my wife I need new sway bars and get some bugs ironed out..

All and all a productive evening.

My old 00Gt with 3.73's and otherwise stock would spin 2 second gear no problem, this 4.6 engine in my fox supposedly has ported heads, has long tubes and full exhaust with 3.73's and it won't break the tires loose in second gear..

Had the car out today and really got on it for the first time and seems something is up, I think I still have an exhaust leak that I'm trying to sort out, hoping it's not leaking at the head otherwise it's beyond me being able to fix at home.

I have to assume its stock tune in it to which I'm sure isn't helping.

Maybe a 5L coyote swap might happen sooner than later.

I was told it has a 2000 GT motor. Ya it would have been tuned for Roush blower. Any chance you can check AFR with gauge? Or did they give you a handheld?

No i didn't get a tuner with it, I assumed it would have been returned to stock tune, but stock 1996 tune running Pi heads/intake? Has to be tune issues with that alone...There's some unknowns that I need to sort out, don't want to just give up and throw money at it but I want a reliable cruiser at the same time.

I have an appraisal (not sure if it's your friend who built it) supplied the info, and it says 96 block.

There's a cheap 2v PI engine my friend told me about on gtamc I was thinking of grabbing, has engine harness and all, be a good way to get all my EGR equipment at the same time..

Been working on cleaning up garage, which leads to more of a mess of course. I decided to try and epoxy the floor myself instead of paying someone.

Started by pressure washing the floor like 5x haha, etching cleaner and let it dry.

First coat was epoxy and paint fleck, followed by a pretty heavy coat of clear.

I've had good luck with the products I used in the past in my workout room, floor hasn't chipped yet from me not being as careful as I should be..

I used depot garage floor epoxy, but I don't buy the kits, they sell it in the gallon can, I buy the paint fleck and rustoleum epoxy shield clear.. Works out to around 400$ "ish" to do my 2.5 car garage.

The side I did first was spotless so it adhered really well, we see how the other side does with the oil stain..

Other than the mustang I won't park anything in here for a few weeks to really let it set up, I read to park with cardboard under the tires for the first while helps.

bullshit.....6 weeks after being released from the hospital....and barely 90lbs, the doc gave me the go-ahead.....and 9.5 months later and 24 solid pounds of muscle later....she's a strong little thing now

one of the challenges Jodi has had since she started training is a condition called "frozen shoulder"....which as the name describes...has limited her ability to do certain chest and shoulder exercises because her right shoulder suffers from the condition.....and wouldn't you know it...my mother-in-law suffers from the same condition

my mother-in-law's take on "frozen shoulder" is that nothing will help it and that it will eventually just go away.....and she's had the condition now for 4 or 5 years with no improvement

again I say bullshit....my take on an unhealthy shoulder freezing up is because of lack of exercise in the first place....and to get the joint back to health takes training and stretching....pick exercises that you can do and just do those until the joint gets healthier and then add in more exercises as the range of motion returns

9.5 months ago Jodi couldn't press her right arm directly above her head...the only chest exercise she could do was very light incline dumbbell press and the only shoulder exercise she could do was a very light front shoulder raise

yesterday's chest/shoulder/tricep routine went as follows:

incline dumbbell press for 12 reps
incline dumbbell flies for 12 reps
seated dumbbell shoulder press for 12 reps
standing shoulder laterals for 12 reps
dumbbell kick backs for 12 reps
cable straight-bar pushdowns for 12 reps

and she repeated all 6 exercises 4 times for a total of 24 sets and 288 reps in about 15 minutes....and she was freakin pumped

I follow a similar philosophy to recovery and self-improvement. I have had reconstructive ACL surgery on both of my knees due to sports injuries. I was told I would need 6-9 months of recovery and rehab for each surgery. The first surgery I worked my butt off and was fully functional within 4 1/2 months, the second within 5 months (delayed slightly due to a post surgery infection).

During the recovery from my second surgery when I had the infection mentioned above I was losing a couple weeks in recovery and starting to get worried that I was missing my window for a full recovery (I had a hamstring graph and you need to work consistently on stretching out your hamstring post surgery to get your range of motion back, too long and the ligament will never be able to further stretch, similar to atrophy). A month into the ordeal my physiotherapist told me I needed to start thinking about the fact that I may never get my range of motion back, specifically not being able to hyperextend my knee (ie push the back of your knee to the floor and lift your heal off the ground when sitting on the ground with your legs extended). I couldn't fathom the thought process of this "professional", fired her the next day and spent the next few months working my but off to regain the range of motion and leg speed and strength.

4 years later and I have never looked back.

when you work through injury you gotta lift baby weight but it always comes back....just gotta pace yourself

I was tearing my shoulder bad for whatever reason about a year ago.....lightened up for about 8 weeks and came back....same thing with the elbows about 6 months ago...took longer to get through it at my age...but you get through it and lift like a tank

I am dead from being up at the cottage yesterday.

Prop shaft on the boat broke. Got towed to the property by a nice man, then proceeded to put the dock in. Wrestled with the anchors using a paddleboat, then swam around for a good amount of time.

Back and arms are killin me. Got home after 1 am. Had a wonderful time with friends, but I have used muscles that haven't been used in years.

Last night camping at craigleith provincial park. Kinda of a smal crappy park but absolutely beautiful area. Spent some time walking different parts of the Bruce trail. More failed attempts at fishing and an afternoon at Wasaga beach.

Great weekend that has been a let down because of the campground. They don't enforce much of the rules. It's been a weekend of screaming kids running threw other people's sites. Last night a large group was up till 4 am drunk roudy and keeping everyone up. Park rangers did nothing about it. The same as that have done nothing about the blatant open drug use from multiple campsites.
Of course they did show up when I was sitting quietly minding my own business watching the kids play at the park. Young punk of a ranger walks up and gives me grief about my drink off site. I say sorry I'll take it right back. He actually forced me to dump it out and gave me a written warning.
I kinda chastised him about not enforcing any of the other rules of the park and asked why the hell he only bothers the guy who is disturbing no one. Didn't have an answer.
Oh well rules are rules I suppose. Kinda like a cop ignoring someone run a stop sign so that can ticket you for 10 over.

Dealers and their upselling of extra warranty and rust proofing drive me nuts. They really should have stopped trying to sell them when I pointed out their parts prices were crazy and the same part, likey from the same manufacture, at NAPA with my trades discount would be 20-25% of their dealer price. Was driving South on bathurst on the left most lane, the lane just beside the left turning lane at the lights. Got to a red light. Light turned green so I gave it some gas and accelerated straight, split second after that a crazy kid in a motorcycle wrapped around me from my left and cut me off in the middle of the intersection between me and the island on the other side of the intersection. Gave him a piece of my mind as soon as we came to a stop as he went to the right lane.... his response / question was "did it affect you?". Told him it could have as I may have hit him if I accelerated any faster and told him he shouldn't drive so recklessly. I didn't even know he was accelerating so fast up behind me like that. Bikers need to realize they have small profiles and should drive carefully... I checked all my blind spots as usual. I could have hit that piece of shit.

Kid was brown, maybe 5'6 to 5'11, on a white motorcycle with a white helmet. Can't remember exact details be aware around the Richmond hill area.

I've got my best friend's wedding to worry about which is in a few hours and I was so pissed that I didn't think to write down his license plate. Guy had the audacity to flip me off too. ^^ exactly, but when I bought mine I had said( warned the salesman) that I didn't want any of that nonsense when I came back to pick up the car- he must of said something to the finance manager or whoever does the final paperwork because they didn't even ask me anything- only if I wanted the extended warranty.^^

We then had a private area at a local restaurant with open bar. Cost us around 6 grand. Was pretty economical and I think a good time for all.

Congrats Mark! I agree with the small simple wedding. My first one was huge and the second one was much more simple and elegant. Love my wife for wanting it simple as well!
