My Dad's got an 03' Z06 with 16,000km on it. It's ridiculous. Does everything extremely well. And it pains me to say that because I'm not a fan of GM.

They're fantastic cars. I made the mistake of driving my Dad's a few times. Killed my desire to drive my Mustang. It's that good of a car. Also regularly drive a 2008 Aston Martin DB9. No question the Z06 takes it.

Hard to ignore the performance to dollar factor of these cars, anyone who hates just because it's a GM or a vette needs to relax.

I’ve owned a fox and driven many vettes. For me the vette interior is far nicer than the fox, although that isn’t saying much because fox interiors are trash.

Compares it doesn’t, the Vette was a totally different car from the Shelby! But fun factor for me Shelby hands down just a fun car to drive!

Hi uh, ya we might be. I'm on BaT literally everyday. A little bit ago I bid/watched a designo SL55 that I ended up deciding wouldn't fill the need. A silver 996 TT 6spd went for 37k last week which is a BARGOOOOOON but with our terrible dollar would have been near 50k with import. I need parity again so I can go full dumb and reckless.

Also that FD is gorgeous. Great taste you/me/we.

I could not agree more. I had a 95 z28 t top that I really enjoyed driving. The interior did feel like I was driving a sunfire. I hated it. The C5 vettes are the same way. I like the C6 z06 the best. Even more than the newer ones.

You can get the car for 15-20k and it will cruise all day, run mid/low 12s at the strip, and handle a road course like a champ. If you really hate the interior another $3000 will get you a padded flat bottom wheel, some new seats, and upgraded stereo with a little left to spruce up some trim and give er a good detail. I mean I love Mustangs the same or more than the next guy but you can't really even get in to a 03/04 Cobra for the same money and the Vette just gives a slight nod in baseline performance and has a slightly more robust driveline.

Either one is a slam dunk home run if you can get your hands on one, to go more inline with the thread purpose however for the value to money a base C5 coupe absolutely DUNKS on a GT new edge or even S197 for dollar to dollar performance and potential.

or spend a little more and get a 2008+ interior... much nicer.

The early 90's big rounded buttons that GM carried over into the 2000's is a shameful thing. I don't care if the car can runs 12's and whatnot... I will not drive this:

The rest is nice though... but you own a car from the inside and if it looks like a sunfire/cavalier... meh.

I love my daily 18 GT. I also love my 99 C5. I'm currently looking for a cam to slide into the LS1. It's hard to argue with approximately 400 rwhp with a full exhaust, cam and tune.

Nice collection, I like the Vettes don’t know enough about them to distinguish years .
