Truck tires

In addition to my other thread that maybe should have been posted here.
Looking to upgrade the tires on the truck. Want something more agressive that the standard bfg ko2 that I know is very popular and a great tire.

I’m thinking something along the line of the

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ

Or the

Toyo Open Country R/T

Both in a 305/55R20 (33X12.50R20)

Any one had experience with either of these?

Biggest concern would be noise.

Toyos for me hands down. I believe they are cheaper than the ATZ and in my opinion Toyo makes a better performing off road tire.

That said both of those will make more noise then a basic AT as they are both hybrid tires which is a mix of mud and all terrain. If you don't want more noise I'd stick to a dedicated AT.

Also make sure both are available in your factory load rating or better since I know you've posted about towing a double trailer before, sometimes the aftermarket stuff esp off road variety has soft sidewalls that get floaty when towing. Going wide than stock with factory rim width will also make the truck tram line a little more and have more sidewall bulge. If looking to just up the ante on the aggression maybe got a half size up but same width (ie go from a 275/55 to a 275/60 or 275/65) which shouldn't have an clearance issues and impact driving feel a little less.

Checked with my tire guy. He said the Toyos were still at rates.

Only reason I was looking at the M/T is becasie roush has a package deal. With rims and tires for 2799.
When I priced the toyos they were 2300 mounted on my stock rims

Id go Toyo r/t or Goodyear Duratracs, Baja ATZ are good, but will be louder.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac are a good option, and not as noisy as you might think from the tread pattern. Some sizes are available in a regular P rating as well if you don't need the added load capacity of an LT tire. General has a new one too, the Grabber X3.

finally got the truck back again, (still waiting on back ordered leather)

got the new rims and tires on, and a leveling kit, very happy with the way she looks now, if only it wasn't raining all day

Duratracs are nice, but my set started to get real loud after 30k km’s

I have used Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ for front wheel and found them very reliable and decent. But you should take your decision after complete research.
