I keep seeing like 16L/100km on online reviews. Which is funny because on my 2011, I got as low as 9's on the highway and my average in town was 13 tops. I could bring it into the high 8's by hypermiling on the highway. Only hit like 15L/100km when I was driving like a total tard, sideways and all.
Are the new 5.0's even heavier than the previous body style? What's going on...
I am not willing to get an ecoboost FYI.
It will achieve numbers you saw with your previous one and then some. The car itself, night and day more car vs the previous gen regardless of how it stacks up on paper.............DO IT!!!

My stupid little mind is made up, I really want to buy some expensive cup holders and a free Mustang. Wife agrees, maybe not the timing but that's just a little detail. lol And she's going away for 2 weeks, LMAO...
Track pack II car Bill has for sale to me is an epic ride.
My wifes away for another 1.5 weeks, please save my marriage n buy it.

My wife is some sort of project finance officer at a big bank... my spend will still be limited. Doesn't matter how much coin I bring in... it's good I'm controlled a little.
EDIT: I am willing to compromise by not modding the notch anymore, it's a pretty dang good driver right now (needs gears but I have that already). So if I pull the trigger on a new stang, I will be selling the IRS stuff and other performance parts I have on the shelf.
And I will have to finish the Cobra ASAP. May bring it to my friend's body shop to get it done faster too.

Our owner has seen as low as 8.9L/100km in his demo 2018 vert 5.0/10-spd auto.
^ awesome numbers from a bad ass V8 but bet in continues to get even better.

Gas mileage is not part of this equation lmao
Just helps convince your wife :D

It is a little. I'm impressed these big V8's are getting this sort of mileage now. If it was like 20l/100km average, I would be not thinking of this at all. Has to be within reason and it looks like the 5.0 is about the same if not slightly better than my Edge. Fusion gets 11L/100km city driving with me driving it - 4 bangers hate me. LOL But does get down to the 6's if I drive for it... real driving on highway is mid 8's in the ecoboost Fusion.
In a few years we will replace the Edge with either a Hybrid something SUV or a Tesla 3...

All around driving in my 12 was around 13l/100 km. My 14 was the same
My 15 overall was probably 12. Never saw less than 11
My 17 routinely sees 10's and today going out to Mississauga on the 401, top down, i saw 9.3. And that was at 130km/hr.

I never think of fuel mileage - it's not an option if you want a fast car - I remember having a 455 with a stage three build and spending $20.00 a day on fuel to go to work - back in the 80's that was crazy money - two years ago I was commuting 1000 kilometers/wk. in a 1973 Plymouth with a 318 2 barrel...lol was getting the same mileage as my wife's minivan - her new minivan mileage is better now due to 8spd or 9spd transmission....in my opinion fuel mileage hasn't change much in cars since 1970 - the new automatic transmission have immensely improved mileage of recent...

That’s where my hiccup lies with buying a new GT. I don’t want to see 5.0 F150 4x4 MPG since I’d be putting on at least 400km a week, rain, shine or snow. If I do think of this I will get a pretty well appointed GT with performance pack. And stop modding the notch and see what happens next with it.
Winter doesn’t bug me much even if I’m spoiled with AWD, I’ve owned an old crown Vic for a few years and it was better than most FWD cars with 4season tires. I just won’t justify an average 14l/100km daily driver as much as I love sports cars but the new GT would be about the same if not a little better than my edge.
I hate being a car guy sometimes but I can’t escape it. I tried so many times, the best I ever did was 2 years without even owning a car when I lived downtown. But I really enjoy early morning weekend open-road trips and I don't "always" hate the commute either but I'm tearing open the Edge's transmission because sometimes I put it in sport mode and the gas pedal is going through the floor lol. I am who I am, I'm a bit of a car-nerd / idiot. What can ya do... can't change it. Could be worse I guess. At least I'm smart enough to know what would happen if I got into 1000+cc bikes. LOL I'd be splattered all over the 401 on day 1.

Best I ever got was 7.9/100l once. Most of the time I have too much fun with it and mileage is really the least of my worries...lol

Tried the 10 speed everyone loved... its great but not for me. I will say the 6 speed is designed for old farts. I like that. Lol

My 18 GT usually gets between 11-12l per.
On the xway I'm usually in 6th and saving fuel.
My 17 V6 wasn't much better.
I still can't believe I get such good mileage with a coyote and a stick...

I've done limited highway driving in my 2018 GT 10 spd auto, perf pack car and I'm getting 9.4-9.8L per 100Km.
Only have 2,000 km on it for the 2 months I've owned it but I've been out of town almost 4 weeks of that time.

I remember being impressed with the 2011 mileage. When driven to just follow traffic (that's like 1500rpm LOL) it got stupid good MPG, better than my Edge and on the highway I'd argue not much worse than an average 4 banger car.
On the flip side, if you just want to end up sideways (in Mexico) you have more than enough power to act like a nob.

I was averaging 17.2 in my 2015 GT stick, 95% city driving.

On 400 km/wk you are talking maybe $15-20 extra to go with an '18. What's driving pleasure worth to you? I routinely drive 1000 or more km a week and I wouldn't have anything but a Coyote /stick

Not new but I can get 500km highway out of my 2014 GT 6spd. Doesn’t change too much with combined city. Low 400’s. Worst tank to date was lapping TMP 40/50litres for what 50km? [emoji1]
