Well its been a whole 9 months since I traded in the Mustang.... and well I can't lie I'm absolutely loving the truck. But well there's always still that void....
So this happened yesterday.... The deal was too good to pass up.

No one just "drives" a car do they??
The plan is to keep it budget..... but I've been known to not listen to myself. For now maybe some basic mods like exhaust and suspension, we'll see from there.

Another member with a 4th Gen :highfive:
Like I mentioned in my “working on thread” the car has the worlds biggest dash and windshield but apparently GM put a lot of thought into the aerodynamics.
I do like how it drives though and have put almost 10,000 kms on mine in 2yrs.
I also haven’t stopped modding mine since I got it....and I bought it just to drive it.

Believe it or not its a PHAB catback exhaust from Ebay.... complete stainless steel construction, welds were surprisingly very good quality and only set me back $350US with free shipping! The install needed a little more work then I anticipated as its not entirely as bolt on as they lead you to believe, but overall extremely happy with the way it turned out.

Those who know me know how much I love Ls motors...but they are usually surrounded by a truck...lol
I hope you have been enjoying the new ride...but I think it’s only a matter of time until it gets replaced with a LS Powered corvette! :-) the c6 z06 still continues to be one of my favourite modern cars.

Did some work over the winter on the catfish.... I couldn't get over the steering wheel in the car, it looked enormous and it just felt awkward no matter how I tried to hold it..... I know some of you may not "approve" going sans airbag but for me it had to go.... the wheel anyways.... and before you criticize the yellow strip on the new wheel, it was price that made me get that option and more then likely i'll be coloring it black to match.
16379
So during one of my midnight part searches I came across a set of EBC rotors and pads for a very absurd price of $93.56. After searching a few other sites and seeing that they sold for over $300 I bought them instantly.... Few days later I end up with a set of rotors for a Dodge Ram pick up truck. I called Amazon and was told that's what I had ordered.... Anyhow I panicked thinking a fubared and tried to sell to recoup the money..... I then went back to my order history and realized that I did order the correct brakes and called them back.... Anyhow they said they would exchange them for me but they weren't in stock. So I waited over a month but the brakes did eventually show up. I've since gone back to Amazon and that same set up sells for $312.36.
16380
I also picked up a set of authentic Corvette C6 wheels to replace the OEM 16" wheels. Man these wheel wells are huge!!!

Someone told me summer was finally here..... Got the catfish out for some much needed work.... I was struggling with the Monster Stage 1 performance clutch and Tick Performance booster installed. Apparently this combo is a match made in heaven for Fbody owners, unfortunately not for this owner, hated it from day one, tried on may occasions to try and like it but it wasn't going to happen. So out came the performance goodies and in went an LS7 Clutch kit

Also finally got around to getting the EBC brakes installed and calipers painted.

Sweet, details?
2002 Z51 full jam triple black. LS1 6spd, its in good shape with 110,000km. The owner wants to build a track car so the convertible had to go. Not going to disclose numbers but with what I paid for the Camaro, plus the new clutch, brakes, rims and tires and what I paid him on top..... It cost me literally half of what 90% of kijiji and Autotrader prices are for the car. Now don't get me wrong the car isn't minty fresh as the Camaro but its all cosmetic stuff you'd expect from a black car. I'm super excited, while most kids in my era had Lamborghini Countach's on there bedroom walls I was the odd ball kid with a Corvette pinned up. I'm in a happy place!!
I flat out love that gen of Vette, still got a hankering for a red '04 Z06.

Oddly enough my daughter sent me that video! The stance looks great IMO. Funny thing is I have 2 daughters and each of them wanting a car from me. They've been egging me on to get another Vette in the garage so they can have one each when I'm gone........ (I'm convinced they've got some plan to get rid of me with there mother!) Finally got the Quickjack all together this weekend. It was easier then I had anticipated, I think the biggest struggle was the coiled hydraulic lines. Anyhow she works like a dream, got the car up and although it was a bit cool this weekend I made quick work of removing the stock exhaust to make way for the Billy Boat Bullets.

So far so good. These things are super sturdy, makes me feel a lot more comfortable under the car. As far as the space in between the tires, I don't mind it that much it just means I need to crawl further on my back to get to the centre of the car. Small sacrifice I guess.

Been a while since I last posted but have made good progress in the car. Exhaust went in without any hitches, tips lined up exactly the way I wanted, lowered the car 3/4 of the way on stock bolts but may go all the way or get aftermarket bolts if I can figure out how to get off my driveway without scraping the front end. EBC pads and rotors installed front and back, fresh brake fluid replaced the 18 year old stuff and got the tires mounted on the Grand Sport wheels. Against my better judgement I decided to stretch a 295 on the wheel to avoid having to deal with the tires rubbing, they work but I think a 305 would have filled the rear a lot better.
