What brand of power washers do you guys use? I am in the market to purchase one but I want to get electric and must be compact as space is limited for me.

I've been using a canadian tire special 'Sundance' 1800psi electric thing. Paid 100 bucks, and gives me exactly what I need for washing the car. It's just a rebranded simonoiz I believe because the manual had that name all over it.

HI Lawrence, I have a Karcher pressure washer and its been OK. Problem is that the seals will eventually wear/fade and then they don't work as effectively. My experience is that the gas pressure washers are built far more robust and can deal with sitting dormant over the winter better than the electric models.

OG is crazy nice stuff but a part of me wonders how much is diminishing returns and gimmicky appearances. Also Matt is very dedicated but I find a lot of his new stuff to hard to watch, he needs to script more and condense, like Larry from Ammo.

Per your original questions, everything we run at work has a Honda Engine and OEM pump (Simpson is the one brand, Karcher is another).

Avoid the B.E. branded stuff from Princess Auto, the pumps on those are made by a company called AR. The pumps are made in Italy and parts are expensive and hard to get in our experience and they seem to be temperamental at times.

I had a 1600psi Karcher many years ago, worked fine, sold it. Thought I needed a gas unit (more of a want), love gas powered equipment. Bought a 2600psi Briggs & Strat unit, worked great, but hated using it. Too much noise, storage issues, couldn't use it in the winter for washing the vehicles, hard to start. Ended up selling it. Went back to electric, got a great deal on a 2000psi Ryobi unit, 3 year warranty. It's not a high end washer, but is perfectly fine for the 10 times a year I use it.

Do you store it in a heated room during the winter or just let it sit in the garage?

After every usage I drain the pump and store it in the basement all year round. I have a walk up from the basement to the garage, which is very handy.

Another vote for Karcher. I've had the Karcher K5.540 Electric power washer (2000 psi) for several years now. Still works great.

I always purge all the air out of the pump before turning it on. And I always store it indoors over the winter.

I am a fan of its handy design, the flow of water and accessories but I think plastic could be more durable. In the same token, you can also shortlist Sun Joe SPX3000 2030. Amazon gave its "Amazon's Choice Badge" and I have personally used it. Probably, we will purchase one for home use next month.

So I have been living with this for the past year and a bit and must say that I love it for what I paid for it. Fully customizable where I can do upgrades where it is important and that is the handle etc. I will upgrade to a MTM Handle and Foam cannon but for now it is doing a very decent job.

Bringing back an old thread - looking at these now (electric) for car, deck, other stuff around the house. Considering the Greenworks GPW2301 or the DeWalt DWPW2400 which both seems to be decently powered. Greenworks has a 10 year warranty on the motor versus a 3 year with DeWalt. Both seem to have similar features otherwise.

Both look good but the Dewalt is $399 vs the Greenworks at $169? Specs seem similar as well. I gather the Grenworks p/n is GPW2300 as I couldn’t find a 2301.

Maybe my bad on the model number for GW - this is the one I'm comparing to ($349). The 2301 might be the US model number. Here is the one from the GW Canadian site:

I would go with the greenworks as it has a longer warranty. Other specs are similar but the cord on the Dewalt is longer by 10 feet.

Thanks - was leaning that way but flip side is that GW is a younger company so hopefully they're around for the long term, whereas DeWalt has been around a long time and it quite large.

The 10 year warranty is attractive though (as long as they remain in business) as it seems pressure washers have enough issues with them that retailers don't want to deal with them after the initial sale and just direct buyers straight to manufacturers once you walk out the store with them.

Unless you’re using it everyday I can’t see them breaking down on you. My washer from 2016 works perfectly fine.
