Ceramic coating

Was talking to a buddy who had his travel trailer and truck ceramic coated. says the shine lasts for 3 years protects the paint. Supposedly needs nothing but water to rince it off and it looks good as new.

Sounded awsome untill I I got a quote. Was told 6 to 8 hundred just for the trailer.
Sounds like a crazy amount of money for what could be a glorified wax.

Anyone had it done before? Was it worth the money? Would you do it again?

Guy at work had it done last lasted for about 3 months then had to have it done again, he said tree sap ate through the coating.
I’ll stick with good old wax/polish.
