Front end alignment/unusual tire wear on a 17 GT

On my 15 GT the front tires(265/35/20) wore out alarmingly on the insides. At around 55000 km both tires had exposed cords and had to be replaced. I don't k now where this came from as I have no recollection of hitting anything.

Now, I have a '17 GT with 235/50/18 tires and today I happened to notice that the inside edges appear to be wearing very quickly. It's quite noticeable.
I did not seem to have this problem with my '12 or my '14.

does anyone else have this problem? Is it endemic to the S550 chassis? Or is something wrong? I'm about to install 19x9 front wheels with new 255/40/19 Continental tires, and I don't want them wearing too fast.

Combo of aggressive camber and incorrect toe are likely to blame, has it had an alignment? Stock ride height? Beauty of a square wheel n tire set up, ability to rotate.

I got the car in December from Heritage with 6600 KM on it. I now have 22000. I have not had it in for an alignment. Didn't think it was needed. Weh nI [put my new wheels and tires on I think I will get it done.

Factory settings on a Mustang or similar performance car are very rarely going to give even tire wear, more often you will find negative camber to hell with cornering, so yes, it’s kinda normal. If you aren’t a hard driver maybe have an alignment shop set you up for commuter use, may save the tires.
But I’ll add that 55k on a stock tire is nothing to sneeze at.

I got 65000 out of my goodrich high performance tires on my 04 Cobra.

Anf nearly 80000 on my '12 Vert.

As said above, even stock alignment is geared towards performance driving plus cars continue to come with stickier n stickier tires, as such, they wear out quicker.............ton of fun to drive on through.
Gotta either accept it is what it is or slide yourself behind the wheel of a mini van or similar.

You must mean Goodyear on the Cobra, no?

And yes, it depends on the car, kiss a curb, drive on rough roads, etc...those things can throw the alignment out pretty quickly. We recommend one every 40-50k for city cars for that reason.
As well it depends on the tires, Cobra should have had Eagle F1 tires, which wear fairly well for a performance tire, and the wear will slow as the tires age since they get harder.

The original Goodyears wore out fast.
I had B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A ultra high performance. It's a long time now so I forget the actual model. They had a very agressive tread pattern
