Cutting Carbon Fiber

Replacing the OEM radiator cover and CDC extensions with a TruFiber radiator cover. With the Vortech SC the OEM power steering reservoir is relocated to the passenger side of the radiator. I notched my CDC extension to suit the reservoir and would like to do the same thing to the carbon fiber cover.

Does anyone have experience with cutting carbon fiber? I was thinking about using a coping saw with a 41 tooth spiral blade. Any better ideas?

Carbide bit on a dremel and wear a mask and eye protection. That stuff is super fibrous and bad for your health.

Mfg I spoke to suggested, tape both sides and cut with fine blade at high speed with light pressure.

I have cut with a Dremel (it was thicker then the rad cover) cut worked well just slow.
You need a special mask from what I remember and I could cover up. Used a normal cutting black disk from what I remember.

The Carbon Fiber on the radiator cover was pretty thin and ended up being very easy to cut. After taping of the area with painters tape I marked were I wanted to cut and had at it. With a combination of coping saws with a fine metal blade and a very thin fine wood blade for the curves. A little work with a flat and round file and I was done.
