I have been a member of forums for the better part of 20 years.
in all of that time threads ALWAYS get off topic as conversations evolve and more people partake and add points of view
why is it all of a sudden people are constantly bitching about threads being off topic?
nothing wrong with open and evolving conversation that's how its suppose to work.
maybe we should be glad that there are active members willing to partake in a variety of conversations.
its better than a dead board with no interaction.
just my opinion
discuss

Go BRUINS!!!
Be honest with yourself, how many here really want to see a post on Ontario politics move to one about did the Holocaust really occur (not picking on any one, used for illustration purpose only). It's that + similar level of discussions we are asking be kept to the forum we created for it.

The "Girls in Yoga Pants" thread imo is better than the "Hot Babes" thread.

My bad - should have left that one alone (it should be contained within the BFF) but succumbed to remote hope it was not was it seemed or if it was, then walked back. That didn't happen so I wasn't going to keep it going outside the BFF.
Now what's this about Nibiru?
It's all good, some threads will derail is spite of best intentions. The BF forum, best idea we could up with to keep everyone as happy as possible. To date, working pretty well in my eyes. Keep in mind, suggestion thread started way back when is still alive n well, anyone have thoughts for ideas, feel free to post em.
Some of our best ideas / board features came from exactly that. Thanks again to Chris / Armen for suggesting we try the chat out. Personally, didn't think it was gonna fly but be dammed if it hasn't turned out to be one of my favorites.
One of those old dog / new tricks kinda deals. :)

what? why take it so serious...
You know part of my job is to facilitate meetings... with the execs sitting in a room, you'd think a 2 hour meeting would cost the company at least 3500 in time and you have millions of dollars of projects being talked about with much needed action items... you'd think it would be easy to stay on topic. It's very difficult to facilitate meetings and keep things on track. Like this one time I was walking the dog and then I saw a road sign that made me laugh I can't remember what it was but it was a sunny day outside. I like clouds, not the rainy ones but the puffy ones. I don't like the stupid geese chasing me though, man I'm hungry... who likes bacon?

seems to be only an issue when threads go off topic in a certain direction.
I don't always agree with the things being said but it allows for a conversation
unless your constantly censored

What I find bad about censoring is it protects assholes more than the ones who could get hurt feelings over words. Let jerks be jerks and avoid them in general. It also helps people to think "shit, I wrote that..." and then change personality. I know because I say some wicked stupid things a lot LOL

Agreed. It’s not in common for someone to have a viewpoint. That when challenged (in an intellectual way) causes them to rethink, reaserch and possibly change their ideas.
By shunning the conversation your not helping anyone.
