Thought some of you would find this interesting or a cool experience. I race road bikes (bicycles) and this year will be the first year for the Mosport Classic. March 30th we will be on the track racing.

Really looking forward to this new event to the race calendar

Details?

Actual race? Or is this something like the Ride for Heart where anybody can just ride on the DVP?
Would love to ride the track at Mosport ....except climbing the hill at Moss Corner and then the Mario Andretti straight.

Actual race, provincial level event. I expect average speeds to be around 40-43 km/hr

This would be a cool event. During motor race weekends you can walk or ride the track as well. It’s fun to do at night went camping there. It’s really cool to actually walk around it. You really get a better sense for how aggressive that track is, even more so than driving it

Did the race this past Friday, so much fun riding on the course. Race was 16 laps, I finished 9th of 86.
I had never been before and didn’t realize how much elevation change the course had. For the 64km race it was 1100+m of elevation

Was cold to start the race (9am) and very windy. 30-40km/hr head wind up the climb made it a difficult day

Looking forward to it next year

Only watched 1 lap, but that’s cool!

You guys take a much different line than I do.
And I see you guys get up out of the saddle going up the Andretti straight ....much like my car.

We don't have the speeds to require taking advantage of the entire width of the track to make the turns, not to mention you sometimes are restricted by other riders if you are in the crowd. This guy was up near the front of the race for most of it, so you don't see the hoard behind him
