https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2017-FORD-GT-215876
Lot #3010 - Generously donated by businessman Ron Pratte to the Evernham Family-Racing for a Reason Foundation, this is the first current-generation Ford GT donated for charity since the car was introduced. One of the few 2017 model year Ford GTs built to date with a low serial number of #0023, this extremely rare Liquid-Blue supercar was delivered earlier in the year to Mr. Pratte. Ford's all-new supercar is designed and optimized for track performance to honor its racing heritage with only 11 miles from new. The Ford GT couples its extraordinary power with impressive aerodynamic efficiency and advanced active dynamics to achieve a maximum speed of 216 mph - making it the fastest Ford production vehicle on the track ever.
The Ford GT's 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is the company's most powerful EcoBoost to date, delivering 647hp. Further improving engine performance, the GT features an all-new port and direct dual fuel-injection setup to enhance engine response. The engine is paired with a responsive 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle for nearly instantaneous gear changes and exceptional driver control. The car features a hydraulic suspension that changes ride height with a turn of the knob. The suspension allows for customized driving modes, lowering the supercar from normal mode into track mode, and from high to low ride height. Another feature of the hydraulic suspension - front-lift mode - helps the GT clear speedbumps and driveways. The driver can raise the front of the car on demand at speeds below 25 mph; the system automatically returns to normal lower ride height when it reaches 25 mph. With the sale of this Ford GT, Ford is also including a Ford Performance Racing School GT Experience, a world-class program that will give the winning bidder the chance to improve their driving skills behind the wheel of one of the world's most celebrated supercars.
The Evernham Family-Racing for a Reason Foundation will sell the supercar during the auction to benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina's IGNITE program, which offers activities, skills training and educational workshops that address the social, financial, educational and employment needs of young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger's Syndrome. **100% OF HAMMER PRICE TO BENEFIT THE AUTISM SOCIETY OF NORTH CAROLINA'S IGNITE PROGRAM** **WILL BE SOLD AT APPROXIMATELY 8:30 P.M. MST ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 20, 2018**

Without a doubt, go through the trouble to get a bidder's pass. The package comes with 2 tickets, VIP access, free drinks, access to the front row seats, access to the stage. General Admission only gets you to certain areas.

According to Barrett Jackson's facebook page..."one of only a handful known to exist and the only one ever offered at a public auction"...still makes no sense.
And Dennis Collins is going to auction more low kms Fox Mustangs...http://www.fordmuscle.com/news/dennis-collins-to-auction-18-pristine-fox-mustangs/

If anyone in Durham or beyond wants to hang out in the garage tonight surrounded by horsepower and catch a few hours of the velocity coverage of the Barret-Jackson. Not quite the same as the epic party Dad and I hosted a few years back but it's a small tv in a garage with heat and possibility of a few car guys showing up.
Send me a pm

I am lucky, my 27 year old son is an old car enthusiast, but have met a few guys whose kids just aren't into the old car collecting.

Every year I watch. Every year I am sure that this is nothing more than a biggest cock contest. There are much more subdued auctions that don't have every billionaire trying to prove he has more money than the other guy. Sad thing is for us mortals is we will never be able to afford our dream cars because of auctions like this. I still can't turn it off. lol

Ron Pratte who was the shooter of shooters at Barrett Jackson for a while started off as a framer and eventually a built a giant development company. Dudes collection before he sold it was MEGA.

Yes I have read that and good on him for taking his company to that level for sure.
Good on anyone that can do it.
I do realize that not every rich dude was born into it but they are definitely born with something or get awfully lucky.
Because I can tell you not many framers will ever spend over 10 mil a year at BJ, and Pratte Developments is definitely not a framing company anymore.
But like many of you I look forward too two times a year Barret-Jackson in January and the first ride of the year in the car

He's the biggest developer in the entire southwest. That takes a special kind of business man.
In Ontario Freddy De Gasperis is the same deal, started from nothing and now work their way into no possible way to go broke, they own land well past Barrie that will become subdivisions in due time but Ron Pratte makes the De Gasperis family look small.
If you notice everyone wants to bring attention to Ron Pratte, but he's the last guy to show off in the room.
What did the Resslor Corvette guy pass away from? I remember him from 10 years ago, didn't realized he passed away. He was young and he was a genuine show off. :)

This is from Jim Carson of Blackstock Ford in Orangeville... He did the Barrett-Jackson this year to cross it off his bucket list. He also put the Shelby Supersnake that he had on block and picked up a few vehicles to bring back.
