Ford Escape question

I currently own a 2017 Ford Escape and I have a question. Not sure if anyone can help me or not. I have a remote starter on it and for some weird reason the key fob doesn’t turn on my remote starter but the escape starts with the ford pass app. What is the issue? Wondering if someone knows the of the issue.

Is it like my last two trucks, need to push door lock once then start button twice?

Remote Starting the Vehicle. The label on your transmitter details the starting procedure. To remote start your vehicle, first press the lock button to lock all the doors. Then press the remote start button twice.

That is how it works on my car. Press the lock button and then hit the remote start button.

My truck, albeit a Ram, I just double tap the remote start and it locks the doors then starts the truck

Both my Jeeps are the same. Don't think it applies to Ford though.

agree with the above statements....with my focus...also have to hit lock button once..then the remote start twice. There's a plastic tag that is attached to the fob that actually explains it too. hope you figured it out.
