Thanks Rick on the surface it seems like a great way to deal with thing you don't agree with.
On the other hand if one chooses to ignor another member and you no longer see the stuff they post.
You then will not see how the board is presented to the public browsing the forums.
Example
I block a member that I don't agree with
I tell someone that I meet that has a Mustang. "Hey join this forum it's great"
They then join and see a large amount of offensive posting going on and think we are all the same and I'm now labeled with someone that I blocked months ago and have no idea what they have been posting.
Am I wrong to think I maybe label by the company I keep either in real or on online life?

Maybe people should just grow a thicker skin, or go to the GTAMC.

That door swings both ways.
Some good points, all are appreciated.
Gonna do some thinking about this n post a poll later with options of how to best deal with it.
Stay tuned.

Black Flag Forum not working?

Has nothing do with thick skin or the colour my friends. Has to do with the public image generated on a public forum.
Weather I personally agree with your views is not why I'm bringing this to attention.
The same connection that Muslims fuck chickens, Syrians don't work, mustangs crash leaving cruise nights.
It's all blanket statements that could not be farther from the truth. Do we in the TMC community want to be portrayed as racists because of a small part of the forum.
If I was new to the board this week and followed new posts. This would have been my impression of the TMC.
The black flag forum looks more like an anti Muslim forum.
That is not the image I want to be associated with.
I await the decision of the moderators

Good thread. I’m gonna try that suggestion.
Honestly, life is pretty hectic and I just come here to mostly check out car stuff. Seeing by all this other shit can kind of take its toll on me. I know bad things happen, but I generally come here to have a break from that kinda stuff.

Don’t think the poster of most of the threads in question has ever said all
Muslim’s do “this” (insert current topic here”.
Though I have seen that posted in response by other parties.
I can see sensoring posts that call out everyone of a certain back ground or belief.
but I don’t agree with sensoring just because of posts that talk about the flaws of any religions.
No one has a issue bashing Trump supporters but don’t you dare point out how some Islamic teachings still call for killing gays, justify abusing women and children and call for the death of anyone who dosnt follow them.
Seems a bit absurd if you ask me.
Again in no way saying that all followers believes these things. But a lot still do and that’s a problem.
It took civil war in the US to end slavery and stuff.
It’s going to take something similar with the followers of Islam to stop the killings and unjust treatment of people.
By ignoring it and censoring anyone willing to talk about it we aren’t helping the problem.

The one question that I have is why post these topics on a car enthusiast site? Are there not dedicated forums for these types of discussions?
Anyway, just my 0.02.

Agreed. Done playing with the trolls. Putting the Black Flag Forum on the ignore list.

But the real question is does the forum need a black flag section?
Its almost like an invitation to these kinds of threads.
I don't care either way. I just don't click on topics that don't interest me.

some people like to discuss many variety of things, sometimes it’s movies, some times it’s food, sometimes it’s politics.
People didn’t like that it was right there in the paddock so a forum was added to have those discussion where if you didn’t want to participate it was easy to avoid but apparently now that’s not good enough and the nannies want it gone too
Pretty common of the left to silence whatbthey don’t agree with by claiming victims and forcing censorship.
Half naked ladys have nothing to do with cars. But they are here. Are they gonna demand they be removed too?

Black Flag section was an attempt to keep the discussions in one section and not spill out into other rest of the board.

For the record I don’t have a problem with the ladies, the religious crap,or the political stuff. But when 6 threads started by the same person with a definite theme are on the 1st page of the new posts it’s a bit much.
If 80% of your content contributions to the forum is anti Muslim posts maybe you need to find an anti Muslim club instead of a Mustang club.

Question for the Moderators
Is the Black flag forum viewable to the public or only members?
Or could it be set so only members can view.

Can't we all just get along?
Invitation was not the intent Biz.

imo.....give it one thread
the Hot Babes is one thread...not a section
call the thread "the black flag" and you get rid of the endless muslim/isis titles
I'm no fan of what's going on in the world today with all this alla akbar shit but logging in and clicking new posts and seeing a full page of the same topic is a bit much
think of it as the "what's on your mind if you're obsessed with radical crazy sky fairy shit" and call it a day
downside to this approach is I like the specific threads railing on our useless Govt's....I like to keep those topics specific
my 2 cents

I’m with BIZ on this, if a topic interests me, I’ll open it, otherwise I don’t.
I will say that I enjoy seeing the nes of what’s going on with the muslims, but I agree it is getting a bit much. I think it’s good that we’re seeing it though so we can know what’s going on and take steps to prevent it in our area.

I'll calm down, I promise.
Thanks
And I have to give credit where due. I've done a shit ton of reading in the last few days and I'm much more educated than I was.
What a fucking mess over there. Your right we don't need that shit here.
But we have a basic right as people, to help the people that want out of that mess.
When we launched the board, idea was to create a place where everyone could say whats really on their minds, thats why the swear filter has only one word in it, the rules here are few and yes we have a hot babe thread. In an effort to keep the Black Flag discussions going without moderating / censoring whats said or by who, it's here to stay but we will be adding a password feature. You want to view or participate, pm a mod or admin and ask for the password, your in. It also means when rest of the membership hit Todays or New Posts, chit chat in that section will no longer show up.
Please watch for that change to come into effect over the next day, once your unable to view and wish to, shoot any of us a pm and we'll be happy to provide the password.

I like that.
Trust me I like the controversial debates, but as a local business owner I do have to watch my online image.
It's not that hard for a customer to find me online. My customers don't choose me a lot of the time. I am chosen for them and show up in there home. I've been told before they turn to face book and google to find out who is in their home.
I drive a fairly unique car that has been all over my Facebook and this site.
I have to keep my online life PC and I can't post any video of the Cobra on the Hwy 115 from Cancun to Mexico City ;)
One point i disagree with...half naked ladies have been associated with cars forever. :)
Absolutely.

It's not that people disagree, many here dislike the Liberals and ISIS and whatever other stuff gets posted. people don't want it gone because they disagree, or because they are offended, or too snoflake to handle it, or whatever other left bs is being tossed about. its because it is annoying when its taking over a car enthusiast site.

I've password protected the Black Flag forum. If any member would like access, please feel free to PM Rick or any mod and we'll get the password over to you.
Just received a pm asking, yes password is open to everyone, just need to pm and it's yours. :)

Good job. Board looks much more like a car enthusiast site now when I'm hitting 'new' posts. And for guys that want to engage each other in whatever else, they can get the password.
Needless to say, I won't be pming you guys for a password.

Where do posts like Ontario government waste, Ontario Hydro, union strong arming, Trudeau, "lefties", etc go? BFF or Paddock?
For now, think we'll just leave em where they've always been.
