For those looking for something more serious than the regular Performance Pack Mustang, but can't make the step up to a GT350 ...

Sounds pretty good, 305 Michelin Cup 2 tires all around, Magnaride, lower springs, different front splitter and rear spoiler, and other unique goodies.

The PPII will be the car to get for the corner carvers. Great package. 305 square set up on a Mustang GT!!!

As far as the price goes, it is getting up there but still a great bang for the buck, all else considered. And I'm sure Bill at Heritage will be able to get you a great deal, if and when you decide to price them out.

I have just been advised by a friend in the business that the Performance Pack Level II will NOT be coming to Canada at this time. No particular reason was given. I know some people in the US have already ordered this package (order code 673) but it option does NOT show up for dealers when trying to order in Canada.

Our sales manager is confirming the no-go for Canada so far. Hopefully we can get it later in the year or in 2019 MY.

Sorry for the tease everyone!!

Well, it looks like they are arriving in dealer lots across the US. A guy on Mustang6G got the first preproduction unit in Orange Fury.

Yup... But people are a little curious as to why it doesn't come with the front splitter or rear wing as shown in the press release. Apparently Ford has contacted this owner and has advised him that the front splitter will be sent to him. Not sure about the rear wing tho.

Not sure about the rear wing tho.

From mustang 6g.com:

Update! Confirmed that rear spoiler is wrong (as we all assumed), the production spoiler is like the media pictures and is being shipped to my dealer to have installed. Once the new spoiler and splitter are in, I will take her over and have them installed.

Love the car but really don’t understand why ford went with an 11” wide rear rim when it has 305 tires at all corners. The rear stretch on those tires is not cool, especially since the front look wider as they are more squared off riding on a 10.5” rim.

That was a mistake IMO

With that much wheel width under the car, they would need to run much different offsets anyway, so I'm guessing that during the development they found that the car worked better with the extra width for the rear.

cheers

Great option package. Too bad it’s only stateside for now at least.

Ford continues to up their game on the Mustang. For me, I'm constantly comparing the Mustang and Corvette in my head, and the gap continues to shrink. For non-car people, it's a bit hard to justify buying a 460hp Corvette, when you can have a 460hp Mustang for a lot less money.... Looks good on Ford, not so much on GM.

Update on this … Ford Canada has supplied the dealers this week with the vehicle portfolio guide for 2019 Mustang, and the PP Level 2 will now definitely be an option for us as has been rumoured!!

Will it be available on a convertible? After nearly 20 years of ragtops, will I be forced to get a hardtop if I want the handling?

I doubt that … PP Level 2 is made as a fairly serious package for people that want to do track days with their street car, which pretty much rules out convertibles. You can get the Level 1 Performance Pack on a convertible, which is a great package to begin with. Includes 15" Brembos, different springs / shocks / stab bars, and a Torsen diff, along with more streetable rubber.

Having driven a 2018 PP Level 1 car with Magnaride at TMP reccently, I can assure you it is an extremely capable car. PP Level 2 takes that a step further, to bridge the gap between a GT, and the GT350.

Thank you. Since I have been to the track only twice in the last 5 years, maybe, possibly, i can forgo PP2 and remain a convertible owner.
