WTF is wrong with some peeps???

A 32-year-old Pickering man has been arrested in connection to three separate incidents of cinderblocks being thrown off Highway 401 overpasses (http://globalnews.ca/news/3493922/concrete-highway-401-overpasses-police/) in Toronto this week.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a tip resulted in the identification of the suspect.
“A tip was called into Toronto OPP and as a result of that tip, one arrest has been made,” Schmidt said.

The first reported incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday when a vehicle was struck by falling debris.
Police said a cinder block in a bag was thrown over the Progress Avenue bridge in Scarborough and ripped through a vehicle’s roof. It ended up in the back seat.
On Wednesday, a similar scenario played out at 11:15 a.m. on the Yonge Street overpass. He said a witness saw the incident and described the suspect as a man.
Hours later, another witness reported concrete falling over the Warden Avenue overpass and landing on the highway.
Schmidt said it is fortunate no one was seriously injured.
“Had this continued, it would only be a matter of time before someone would have gotten killed,” Schmidt said.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing in Toronto Thursday morning.

Fully expected to hear the same Tim, more than surprised who they arrested. Egging cars or the such is one thing, cinder blocks off an overpass is another.

Holy Shit! That is fucking scary shit. I was always a little apprehensive driving along the 401 but this just make me worried even more. Thank goodness nobody got hurt.

How the fuck is this a mischief charge instead of attempted murder?

Bullet to the Temple.

We really need a purge of this kind of indiscriminate evil.

my, what a small gun.

That seems a bit drastic. I think dropping a concrete block on him would be more appropriate.

Snub nose Magnum, capable of removing half of that POS head.

Dropping the Concrete Block on him, would likely yield the same result. FTW!

So how would that go down exactly? Guy tried to drop a block on your car. You see it just in time and swerve. You backtrack to the guys location and what... Shoot him? I'm pretty sure that wouldn't even be allowed in Trump's new USA.

Or perhaps you just mean the death penalty should be reinstated and apply to those who are convicted of mischief or even attempt murder. I dunno, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't fly either. Not even under an extreme right conservative gov't.

Ironically, the only countries on the face of the Earth that would likely impose such harsh penalties are those who also have Sharia Law.

Welcome to Canada, where criminals gets a slap on the wrist.
How the fuck is this a mischief charge instead of attempted murder?

If you look up Attempted Murder both here and the US, there basically has to be an attempt at murder and not just an intent to harm or injure. I think if they charged this guy with attempt, it would get dropped, since no one was actually hurt and the defense would likely argue he wasn't intent on actually killing someone anyway. Just my guess, tho.

Punishment
(2) Every one who commits mischief that causes actual danger to life is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for life.

Definitely falls under "Criminal Negligence"

219 (1) Every one is criminally negligent who

(a) in doing anything, or

(b) in omitting to do anything that it is his duty to do,

shows wanton or reckless disregard for the lives or safety of other persons.

He's going away for a while.

He's going away for a while.

Lots of factors to consider as to whether or not he gets put away for what most would consider 'a while'.

Guy will plead insanity and get away.....just wait and see.

Oh I'm sure there will be some kind of mental assessment done, guaranteed.

Some actions fall outside of what we can rationalize.
