According to the newspaper, she wrote on Facebook on 17 April that Cam would be heading to his new owner soon.
"Sad he has to go, but he will be much happier where he is heading off to," Rollins reportedly said.
"He's going to have such a great new life," Heng replied, adding a smiley-face emoji.
In the video, a female voice can be heard saying to the dog: "It's been real ... I love you, you're my puppy, you're a good puppy".
The dog was reportedly adopted by Rollins' and her former husband in January last year, with Cam certified as an emotional support animal for the veteran's PTSD.
Rollins retired from the army on medical grounds in January this year, it has been reported.

A US Army veteran and her boyfriend have been charged with tying her 'therapy dog' to a tree and shooting it five times in the head while filming the horrific killing.
Marinna Rollins, 23, and Jarren Heng, 25, were arrested in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and have both been charged with cruelty to animals and conspiracy, arrest documents said.

This has been blowing up over the past few days - I'd like for harsh punishment but they will probably get off easier than they should (the bible belt is soft on abuse/cruelty cases) and go on to hurt others (animals, children, adults). This is what the 2nd amendment protects?

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Doesn't say anything about the right to kill your own dog, or any dog.

Ya already saw, blood already boiled twice. Have had to delete what I really hope happens to them twice now, but suffice to say there isn't a hell long or painful enough.

That's the thing - when last has it actually been about that versus maiming/killing for entertainment/fun, etc.

As someone with severe PTSD, I could never imagine killing my dog. He's my first defense and alert if any potential dangers are there. He has helped immensely in just the small stuff; i no longer have to check the doors, see who is outside (as i am hearing impaired also). I'm at a loss of words. I wish I had had a therapy dog (PTSD Trained) but the wait list is very long as they have to be trained from puppy on and I believe its a 2-3 year process.

No outcome to this story was going to be good. Sad that she took her own life, but she's not going to get any sympathy from me.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- North Carolina police say they're investigating the possible suicide of an Army veteran charged with shooting her service dog as she laughed. Fayetteville Police Lt. Todd Joyce said Sunday investigators believe that 23-year-old Marinna Rollins killed herself. Joyce declined to explain what evidence detectives found. He says police were called to her apartment early Sunday after her body was found by friends.

I don't believe in hell, but if I'm wrong then I hope she's burning for what she did.
