I applaud him for taking an interest in grade 9 physics. He was doing pretty good until he got to the Armalite .338
Newton's 3rd Law still applies as he found out through experimentation.
The force of friction between the kayak and the water is not very much, but the initial force required to get the kayak moving is more than the force required to continue to make it accelerate. Thus the successive shots seemed to move the kayak more than the first shot.
How much does a .338 round cost?
