I'm restoring a 65ish evenrude outboard to use on my 12ft aluminum run about

Bottom end had water in it. I've got it opened up and looks surprisingly good. Due to the age it's all bushings instead of bearings and the oil that had been in there did a good job of protecting everything from rust but it's full of gunk

The bushing look in really good shape.
my question is should I be worried about hurting them when I clean it in the parts washer?

The stuff I have in the washer at first I wasn't very happy with it. It dosnt cut the thick old oil and grease very fast when cleaning up the throttle arm it wasn't cutting threw much so I left the arm in the bottom to soak. Got sidetracked and came out the Next day to the arm stripped right Down to the aluminum.
Paint and all.

Not a big deal as it was getting a repaint any way. But will the cleaner damage the bronze bushings
If so what should I use to clean them but not harm them.

Thanks

We actually just rebuilt a similar motor last year for the cottage rowboat. Stick with simple green and water or a mild degreaser. We get ours in a bulk jug from a buddy of mine and we use it in the ultrasonic cleaner.
