Kidde carbon monoxide/smoke alarm recall

Not sure if anyone have one of these in your house but there is a recall (if you have one you can get it replaced for free or partial cost). I had one manufactured in 2009.

Thanks for the heads up, will check our tonight because I don't remember the date of them.


The issue is the alarm may no longer chirp in the model with battery backup even after the original batteries have been replaced. In the case of the model without battery backup, the chirp may not work if power is removed and then restored.
Well I do know that ours chirps. Does it ever. Replaced the batteries last fall.

Thanks very much for posting this. I checked both of mine and the one in my basement falls under the recall. Called kidde yesterday and they called back today. Took all my info and requested a picture in an email that they immediately sent me. I took one and now a new alarm will be shipped soon to my house for free.
